I'd love to help out, guys. I have a good 9.5 Mbps download rate but unfortunately my upload is only 0.5 Mbps.

Is there not someone else out there with the same download rate but with a better upload that could host the server, even as a stopgap measure until a more permanent home is found ??

@devs:

I thought the pay-to-play idea would work out very well, a one-time fee of $5 or $10 to be added to a Whitelist isnt a crippling price to pay, I'm pretty sure that if you wanted to play the game you'd have no trouble getting a one-time payment together. I would avoid monthly, though.

Also, I wouldn't imagine that something similar to SSH key-auth would be too hard to pull off. Clients would launch a simple client side program, login with their key/pw(which their $10 bought them) into that program, that would then authenticate them with the Discovery server and let them connect on any account they have, with a maximum of say... 2 at a time. It would also help do something about the constantly full server during the daytime and all the lolwutters who are here for no good reason. Is this a possibility? I'd elaborate more but I'm on my iPhone, kinda annoying to type.

Any more news guys?

With the discovery Community shrinking, A pay to play, would likely drop it to its knees in the worst possible way. I do not argue that people who really want to play would pay it. However I don't know how many new people would start playing.

Just got a call from my friend and he said that it shouldn't be any problem to fit the server on some good connections. I just need to ask Cannon (or someone...) about conditions and...stuff.:)

Did you tell your friend about the reason for a move ? If he depends on his connection, he needs to realize that he might run the risk of loosing connectivity, either due to more attacks, or due to the ISP deciding to terminate his service in order to protect other customers.

Also, since you (and therefore quite probably your friend) are located in .cz, the question is if it is the same ISP as majkp had (No idea how many commercial grade ISP's operate in .cz). If that is the case, they allready have proven that they prefer the easy way out, in case the attack continues against the new serverhost.

No, they shouldn't be the same providers. It's even a different 'city'. But yeah, I'll make it clear to them but from what I've heard a while before, they already know about it.
