Give Freighters double CM slots and double Mine slots.
Yeah. Freighters are meant to be an agile transport ship that can evade capture while its bigger cousins get CD'd.
So, by giving them double CM and double mine slots, freighters become that nasty little vessel that always seems to avoid capture and leaves the attacker with the sour taste of nukes in his mouth.

It is a rather small target combined with other transports.
The powercore is constantly drained if you are using transport turrets, it should be able to supply the usual Xeno weapons.
If i recall it correctly a Xeno with Xeno guard ID can fly a transport.

Junkers are enemies to the Xenos, so yea, a SRPR would be needed. However the CSF is a good choice indeed - small, agile and the hell of a firepower.

With the new SRP politic in 4.86, I suppose you can negotiate an ooRP agreement with Junker faction players, then set up a "theft" RP with them to obtain them.
