Quote:Our server is kinda like Kenny from South Park. You can shoot it, maim it, and kill it as many time as you want, but it will always show back up later like nothing happened.

"-Oh my god, they killed Kenny!!!
-You bastards!!!"

How about an admin make a poll for who wants who to host the new server?

Depending on what form of DDOS attack it was, depends on if you can ever find them. Recent attacks have been using DNS amplification (basically the attacker uses zombie/bot systems to send multiple DNS queries of a specific type to numerous DNS servers, but using a spoofed source address (the address of the targeted server) the DNS servers then send a reply (very large compared to the query) to the targeted host, flooding the network connection of the server. There are other forms of DDOS, but effectively they all do the same thing, flood the targets network connection so nobody else can connect to it. This is one of the hardest types of attacks to track down, due to the use of zombie/bot systems (all those unprotected windows systems on the internet, or ones that have been compromised by some Trojan via email or a hostile hidden iframe on a web page they visited. As you can attest, you were infected with one a while ago. Thats what I fight day in and day out here at NASA, trying to educate users not to click OK whenever something pops up. The weakest link in computer security is the user. Sorry, but unless the service provider (ISP) wants to get the FBI involved, there is not much youll be able to do, as they are the only ones with the ability to subpoena the logs of all the internet carriers., and they are swamped with more important cases than DDOS attacks. (Banking/identity/credit card theft, etc.)

[sarcasm]Careful Tena, you may get called a liar for posting that up.[/sarcasm]

But, I digress. It's pretty much going to be impossible to track this guy down. I've found out stuff about him, but not anything that will really help us out.

No need for such a poll, since Igiss and the rest of the Disco Server Jockeys have a backup plan underway.

I echo the wise one who said "Step away from the internet".

I'm just curious who's got the most "+1"s in this thread about hurting the script-boy/girl.

*checks out window* Fire and Brimstone aren't raining down outside, the end of the world isn't nigh. Go outside.

+1.

I agree with the above post.

I've donated several times and even if I am planning to quit the game after a while, I would still donate till my time ends here. Its a good community and lots of hard work.

:$

That doesn't cover it quite.

:$:$

Nope, still doesn't.

I think even a facepalm won't quite cut it here.

I'm with Millers. Facepalm is too weak for that one.
