GADC Concept Ships - Xing - 07-09-2008 I suggest you 1. stop working with sphere. Sphere is fine when it comes to making Mon-Calamary ships from SW, nomad ships, and any organic stuffs. 2. Use Cubes. And cylinder if really necesary. You can work up a main body with one cube, or in worse case, cockpit one cube, mid body one cube, engine, a cylinder, wings, two cubes or more. Keeps low on poly, and makes good result, since you start from bulky toward smooth and sharp. while your thing is just very, very round, I'd say, fat. GADC Concept Ships - GADC - 07-09-2008 Right spheres...will be gone......Besides I figure how to change the cockpit into the ship's overall design. So whats the budget count for polys? GADC Concept Ships - Turkish - 07-09-2008 You're doing better for sure, though you still seem to be making everything from manipulated primitives. A suggestion might be to try several styles of modelling to find your niche and then attempt to apply it to FL and Discovery. Box modelling would probably be a fair point to start at. You're showing good improvement in style and concept though, its just still too "mooshy". GADC Concept Ships - Xing - 07-09-2008 yeah. I recall my first battleships..~ they looked like boxes over more boxes of boxes XD GADC Concept Ships - GADC - 07-09-2008 Mooshy as in the meshes not lining up right? where you see shade difference? GADC Concept Ships - Xing - 07-09-2008 uhu. here, I'll take my Si-31 Red Tiger as an exemple of how simple it gets. This fighter took me, as you can see; 1 cube for the main body module 2 cube for the 2 forward little wing 2 cylinder for the 2 engines 4 smaller cubes for the wings 1 half sphere for a small decoration unit in the back. GADC Concept Ships - GADC - 07-09-2008 .... What do I join the meshs? If I have to then I have to weigh them together to make them seem less. EDIT:....OH............. GADC Concept Ships - Xing - 07-09-2008 you may create polygons over a few of the joint. Usually however, it is preferable that one "module" is made in one bloc alone, the others separated only due to joints, for instance. creating polygon to join up is rather tedious usually, see. GADC Concept Ships - GADC - 07-09-2008 Right screw Concept one...hmm I'll be back with another headache maker... thanks for the help. GADC Concept Ships - GADC - 07-09-2008 :P......im going to have spikes....just wait and see...I will use the spike to latch on to debris and rocks so i can......do nothing...those rocks don't move... I have a question can specially design guns be made with the models, detachable of course. Well I know it's possible, I want to know if it's allowed. Edit: SO if i do one single mesh for the body it will be fine? Not by joining the meshes together but building the body point by point. ? If I make things point by point the BOXES will look like this. All i did here was joined the meshes together. I could go thought and edit the points that are not needed and eventually it will become real single mesh but it's faster just redoing it. Now is the right track? And beside Mechanics how is the design? all those points in the middle can be remove (internal). After I cleaned it up a little in order to keep it solid I had to move some points around. I'm redoing the tail fins. |
