Generally I like the design, not a bad one, but it's another space plane (you don't need cardboard wings in space, otherwise without shield and small asteroids and other small junk in space you're screwed), not space craft. Use height, folks, give your ships thickness and bulkiness.
Quintinius~Verginix- Yes that thought crossed my mind until I realized how hard it is to RP it....if it was a Stealth/Reco it would have lighter armour to be fast. And...a small power supply. With this ship you will notice there is a huge intake in the noise that is the housing system for the engine. This design allows me to not sacrifice power supply for the engine components. While being sleek and thin...
Treewyrm- If I make it into a Bomber Class is will be much beefier...it's hard to break the mold but I will redesign two versions of Concept 1. The wings would serve a purpose.
Seth Karlo- Maybe...dunno just will see what going on with the updates. I have a Bomber to make for a Faction and a Space Liner. So this one can be claim by any Faction and such.
I will have updates later on...like in 10 hours...I have to sleep. Keep the input rolling. Thank You!
edit: I will post the Alpha-Centrai Concept in 10 hours too...

Less wings, thicker hull, thicker wings, see vanilla ships. They aren't sleek but they are what defines the game style, a style we have to follow regardless of our artistic preferences for the sake of overall design consistency. Less spheroids - more boxes.
Nope, it isn't. There are very few "curvy" original ship lines so to say, Bretonian for example, but likewise it consists of boxes mostly still. Face extrude, chamfer, outlines, extrusion along splines (and their respective equivalents in most 3D modeling programs), low-level polygonal editing and such are the tools of trade for most of the part. The sleek part is archived via textures and surface smoothing. Also it allows your ships be optimized for game performance and keep them within their ship classes polycount budget.
