Oh god... The sheer idea of EA taking over Freelancer makes me want to gnaw on the edge of my desk in anger.
On the bright side, we'd probably get more Freelancer clones and sequels than we could handle, cookie-cuttered out with a few more tedious features every year (as with EA sports. You can only reinvent football so many different ways on a single console..)

Paradox mostly makes map-based games, and though they're good it's nothing like Freelancer.
Activision maybe? I don't know, space games like FL are in a kind of limbo at the moment, no one makes them anymore.
