Well, not quite sure what you mean there . ..
The only problem is if another company wants to make a Freelancer sequel, they would have to buy the rights off of Micro$oft. It's hard to tell how much $$ they would want for it . . .

I think Valve would definitely be pretty high on everybody's wish list.
Personally, I think Bioware might not do a bad job. I mean, after seeing the sheer amount of backstory they put int Mass Effect and the like, and the overall quality of that game, I think if they adapted that into a Freelancer setting that they could produce something pretty playable.

But that means it'll be on the GAY-BOX 360! If Valve do it, then it could make up for the lack of a Portal sequel...

We'd be walking around the Freeports rather than flying around them D:
I want the people who made Freespace 2 to make the next one. Sadly, I heard they went outta business about 10 years ago. But its either then or Microsoft. I will EA if they even think of purchasing the rights to FL2, and chew on Bill G8's if he actually sells it to them. Activision/Blizzard was good before, but their slowly turning into the new Microsoft in my opinion...
Sierra would be a nice choice as well, but their reputation was hard hit when they released the extremely overpriced WIC expansion...
Personally, Microsoft has experience in this game, and I'd prefer they make it, so it remains simple and fun. If another company makes it, I'm worried different ships will have different cruise engine speeds and what not, sure it would be interesting, but almost everyone game has that, which is what makes FL stand out from the rest.
Valve will just bloody patch it so you have to put up with their annoying walkabout style of gaming. But i think Atari would possibly have a good go at making it.
But in my books there just simply is no other game producer like Microsoft Game Studios these days.
