Newbie Question: Neutral IDs - pipsqueak - 06-08-2007

Frankly, this is a RP server. The only reason a lot of people are arguing about bigger transports so they can fund their uber ships on another character without the danger of being attacked by the pirates. WTF ??
On discovery, I started as a freelancer and upgraded to a trader and I died a few times and I paid "taxes".It ticks me off that people want a free ride so despartately. I say if you are wanna be neutral ID then stay neutral do not trade at all. and If you want to engage in the game, then engage fully and buy a trader id.
I think the admins should disallow trading for Neutrals altogether. and Drop these neutral/traders down to a 400 or less cargo ships. God knows there is enough out there that could use some tender lving care.

Peace.

I've been helping new players a lot, Red.

And all you ever did was break the rules repeatedly and spam the forums like you just did.

edit: Good point Pipsqueak!

theres plenty of relevant info in there. and your help is "ban on spot" hah no questions ask. ill let it stand. none the less. thats not the argument pipsqueak the argument is what is considerd a freighter not if they are alowed to trade. some people dont want to be hassled with constant pirate atacks or people atacking them and whats so bad about them wanting that? when u can use a larg train make over 4 times what they can in one trip? seems just a ltitle selfish.

neutral alowes for a easier way of tradeing and no fear of being hasseld i dont think it should be removed becaus somone says they need to work for it. its also a good way for beginers who dont know what to do jsut yet and wanting to make some cash to get started without pirates breathing down your neck.

I kind of agree with Red. If someone wants to limit themselves to a tiny Neutral-legal ship and trade, why not? They could make cash a whole lot faster if they switched to a Trader, and that's even after paying off the occasional pirate. I guess the problem is people who get larger ships and stay Neutral... But I do think that officially what qualifies as a 'freighter' and what doesn't should be clearer in some cases.

Like I already mentioned, I'm just sticking with my Neutral ID and Turanic Freighter while I explore (an excellent exploration ship) and until I get enough cash together to get a Whale... I just choose to earn that cash by trading goods instead of getting job after job. Both methods seem to work out about the same, unless you have a 'freighter' with a cargo hold bigger than 400.

OK, one last question from me: What kind of ID do you need to trade illegal goods? Trader and Zoner IDs say no unlawful actions, which I assume means smuggling. Do you have to go Pirate to smuggle?

The problem is in the copouts, the big haulers with Neutral IDs, not the small freighters.

Newbie Question: Neutral IDs - AdmSirRed - 06-08-2007

Drake thats a perfect question makes me wonder as well. since smugling isent a lawful act. but if you can smugle with a trader ID then why wouldent u be able to do unlawful acts witha neutral ID?

i would beilive you could. not sure tho

Red the only thing I'm sure about, is that you are permanently banned from both servers ... I'm beginning
to find your presence here a little offensive now. You were punished for a string of offences, so just act a
bit like a man, and leave well alone now.

Newbie Question: Neutral IDs - Eppy - 06-08-2007

I concur with Hood there. He beat me to it.

Let's face it, people need some way to fund their ships. It cost me Fifty Million just to get Willow tagged, ID'd and half-combat ready (And that's not counting those guns I love so much, AND my father deleted the char, plus a Train with 200kk). What does it take to run a battleship? I'd agree that people should use the Trader ID, but we have to limit what others can do to the trader. Trading's a big enough pain in the butt already.

Newbie Question: Neutral IDs - Dog-Soldier - 06-09-2007

Pipsqueek...that's the point I was making in my post. WTF do you mean by your WTF? My point was ppl do that, use the neutral id in big transports so they are not attacked. I don't agree with it. It was the example I used to stress the point I was making. Role-play for real! (And within the rules) (Well as real as you can then hey!)

Newbie Question: Neutral IDs - Drake - 06-09-2007

*Cough*

I'm still wondering what ID is needed to haul illegal cargo without breaking the server rules? I know pirates can, but they can't get transports. Any other possibilities?

Though I still have yet to find any illegal cargo that pays more than diamonds.
