This idea is so terrible that Virus contacted -me- about it instead of the other way around.
It's clear that you guys don't really "get" the Phantoms or the concepts of the older generation. The idea of a force of nature that interjects into your peaceful afternoon to stir the pot is, judging by the wall of green in the OP, a foreign concept in an age of submitting forum requests to pull the trigger.
The Phantoms are from the old days. Leave the name and legacy alone. This is the equivalent of resurrecting Mon'Star in the form of a grumpy old man in a Liberty 5k.
Leave it alone. Build something new. God help you if we actually wake up Kane and you have to insta ban one of the people who built this place out of nothing because he doesn't hold back in letting you know what value he places on this half baked nonsense.

Ontopic: A little bit of recycling such as this shows a degree of dev initiative ranging beyond the familiar zone of PoB-based whining/controversy/hole-plugging, the infinite barrage of amusing community ideas we dream up in our spare time, and the desire to prevent you from using outrageously terrifying technological combinations without twelve months of in-and-on-forum RP and a hefty SRP.
Let's just roll with it before we fling stones for a change? Or would that not be... Disco... enough?

It was impossible to retcon the original faction into something more Disco-like, so it was left to pass into lore, and it should bloody well stay that way. And lets be fair, everyone effin complained when they were flying anyway ...
I can't believe this is a naive and rather amateur attempt to deflect attention from other far more important issues concerning the server at the moment, but it does seem to be the case ...

Please no no no. I will add my voice to the other former Phooms in the thread. We don't want it. Change the name, do something else with the stuff, but not only does using the Phantom name cause problems for the server, it also causes problems for some of us who still have characters in play that have a phoom background. Suddenly you are going to change the whole background of my character that I have had for years so that you can retcon the Phooms background? Not nice I say.

you know, legacy remains regardless of what they do with it, also, what they implied is to convert that faction to something else, so just have an open mind.
