Hi, some random moderator here. I fix things, sometimes.
If you need anything, someone will know how to help out.
Go ahead and get acquainted with the server rules if you have not already. They help out alot, because breaking them might give you a bad time.
The best bet to get started is to indeed shadow an official faction, though not joining them is fine, since you can fly in their independent ID. Usually members can point out hits and tips for playing a character on the server. A trip to the tutorials is a good idea, as well. A lot of information can be found there. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and try to have a good time.

Greetings, citizens of Liberty. It has been some time that Our leader Boka has been in the outer systems, unknown to any star charts. He was abducted by the Nomad Hybrid Princess - known only by the ancients as 'Ueala'
After many cycles of slavery, Boka escaped and met traders in Omicro Beta that had been keeping his spatial "The Juvenile" safe.
We apologize for lack of contact, but after returning to Liberty last cycle, House Fexx now has begun the groundwork again.
After many, great battles with the LSF, and many cardamine / illegal artifact deals, House Fexx has now established itself as one of the leading canditates to lead the Rogues / Independant Pirates of Sirius. We are running as an independant Pirate / Crossover group, that supports mainly the liberty Rogues. Please respond to this transmission on Code 6. House Fexx will talk with all freelancers, independant freighter pilots, and particularly pirate. We are paying 5 - 20 Mill for each recruit. We will supply you either a Bactrian or a Super Heavy Rogue fighter and relevant ids. The long term goal is chaos, unification amog pirates, and cardamine bleeding through the core. Seeking pirates / pilots with good vocational skills, not trigger happy, and no how to lead their men. We have 3 main ranks in House Fexx.. as follows (on orders from king Boka) --
Pirate - Fighter / Trader class. The first tier of soldiers will have access to the Bactrian or can request for other ships (Rogue ID / Independant Pirate Id)
Lord - Will have access to gunboats, Liners and more versatile vessels with more of a share in the piracy (up to 50% stakeholder)
Prince - Special Council members. Special bodyguard responsibilities.
Queen - When the time is right, Boka will seek to wed in Sirius. The queen of house fexx will be responsibile for all communication with boka, outside of the system he is in, mananging bases, food rations and also will play a support role in the pirate fleet as intel and back line skirmishes
King - King Boka and his Spatial. Others can request a Spatial though it is reserved for those we trust most
The clan tag is (House.Fexx) you will need a 4 letter callsign for Pirate Rank, Prince and Queen. Lords can have 3 letter names

Your last post would belong better either in the roleplay section of the forum or the unofficial factions list.
As other people have pointed out, this is the welcome section, not the recruitment section(recruitment can be done in the communications channel or unofficial factions list).
Also, rule 3.9 states you should not have more than 1 ID per faction tag. Pick either Rogue or Pirate ID.
