Sick of ooRP traders - leonidos - 01-10-2012 ' Wrote:World of Warcraft has a death penalty. You lose experience/gold for dying, I think you even risk losing items if they aren't bound to your character (I'm not sure, I don't play WoW).Well if you like that then do one thing. Everytime you die and respawn delete your charecter make a charecter with same name and continue.. You like it ? You do it. I love my ships very much. And i dont have another 4 year to make them. Not for the sake of rp. Its a game, play as it is. Sick of ooRP traders - Stefz - 01-10-2012 The simplest solution is to ignore them. You see a lolwut who doesn't care about anything - ignore. That's what I do. Sick of ooRP traders - FGDireito - 01-10-2012 look it happend just now in pensylvania, i started a new char, my FL crashed to desktop, while disconcted I got killed by some random pirate dudes near planet eire they are 3 OC , got a tridente GB , a falcata bomber, and the other onde didnt see it but it was an OC too, only thing they say is this... "money" , great RP too xD ![]() power traders arnt the only problem i suposse but at least they made me laugh, they being shot by BS gettysburg =P Sick of ooRP traders - RParade - 01-10-2012 ' Wrote:Well if you like that then do one thing. Roleplay should be the focal point of all Discovery development. Losing your ship on death is abit much, I agree; but that's mainly because of the equipment and not the actual ship itself. You can make 40-50 million from a single 5K transport full of ore and an average traderoute nets about 20 million with a 3K cargohold. A death penalty of some sort wouldn't be as bad as some of the people here are making it out to be. But once again, the "invested" players like Leonidas are the reason why roleplay sucks on Discovery. Stop blaming the problems of the server of lolwhuttery and instead accept responsibility for your refusal to accept penalties and consequences for roleplay. You guys cry so much about lolwhuts but the lolwhuts only exist because of pridegamers like you. It took you four years to make your ships? Wow dude, I guess you deserve a pat on the back. Then again, it's not like you actually worked for your ships; you yourself admit that you are a power trader and thus you are the reason why pirates will demand ridiculous sums like 10 million. You deserve to die a thousand deaths for being such a pridegaming hypocrite. Sick of ooRP traders - dodike - 01-10-2012 ' Wrote:I love to be pirated. But I'm even weirder: I enjoy '2milordai' pirates too. They add risk and challenge, just as the more expressive ones. If he's a threat, aggressive and knows what he does, who am I to judge him just for he doesn't speak academic galactic common? I love space to be dangerous. Sick of ooRP traders - Warhalk - 01-10-2012 ' Wrote:Fun fact: A properly equipped fighter can do more damage to a transport than a bomber can in the same amount of time. Yup a fighter is far harder to hit, and mines hurt alot if properly used. ' Wrote:Roleplay should be the focal point of all Discovery development. Wow Flame much? First off 20mil for average 3K transport? You have never traded mate have you. 40-50mil for ore is correct, but only 50% of traders haul ore, and half that price is buying the ore from a miner. He probably meant he has had his ships/chars 4 years, and has put alot of time into the RP. Alot of us have. Last stop insulting others because your dis-agree. Saying people deserve to die, and are the reason for lolwuts are against the rules here mate. You are basically being, what you are calling others. I screened many many shots of group i am talking about. It was indeed 11 ships. Rogues/pirates/"freelancers" that should not have been pirating Via ID and a merc. I took over 30 screens so 11 is correct for my Scout. I´m signing this, absolutely right idea about what will happened. Somebody here called for more realistic game. But that also means to start using advantage of fact that space is 3D space. So most of traders will stop using trade lanes and will try to avoid any contact. Because this is realistic flying in space to avoid pirates. Another result - pirates will stay only at jump gates/holes to have possibility to catch trader which will leads lawful forces to guard only them. So nearly every contact will then be at jump gates/holes, and the rest of the systems will be deathzone. And by the way, if you want more realistic space, then jump gates, trades lanes and mainly planets have to get significantly stronger defense which will take down every hostile unit in a seconds. Something similar to Gallia, where are weapon platforms at all lanes and planets, but with even stronger weapons and auto-guided missiles. There will be always people which abuse the system and get around rules (like in real life, where we have big books of laws which can be used to kill somebody, but still there are people who can scam without chance to punish them). What some of you wants here, will be no problem for them, they invent another way how to do it again. You only punish fair players who are trying to play. They will leave server, not the lolwuts and powerplayers. Sick of ooRP traders - leonidos - 01-10-2012 ' Wrote:Roleplay should be the focal point of all Discovery development. You dont like the game as it is. Told you before every time you die delete your ship and make new charecterand make example.. Good for you. And if you think prembann or whatever your idea is the only solution then you will see playing in server with 10 or less people. We play for fun. I never said i dont do rp but if you ask 5 mill for the cargo full of scrap or food and thinks that i will do rp then you are impossible. Anyone sane wouldnt support that. I dont have all day for playing hardly gets 1 hr to play and if i just getout and face a pirate that demanding such amount that i dont have then what should i do? If prembann or death makes loose all then we will see a pirate demanding 100 mill + from transports every now and then as the transport costs like 150 mill he has to pay that amount or he will loose all. And suppose the pirate blows then he is loosing like 10 mill. You think that will be good!!!!! Well it will be good for you may be. Despite being some pirate factions and have numerous pirate shipps i never pirate because i dont like it at all. Yesterday i have payed a pirate with a bomber 2 mill while i was flying a lux liner and he made a demand of 1 mill. He was good to me.. If i fight back i may kill him but i didnt do that for his good rp i payed extra. What im trying topoint out is "we pay to rp not to pirate". I remember once i bought a hegemon and gets out for mining. Within 2 mins i face a pirate who asks some money, i told him that i dont have it, but promised to transfer credits when i sell the ore. Surprisingly he agreed but for a little punishment he blow some of my guns but did escort me to the sell point. Amazed by his rp and goodness i transferred 10 mill that time. There are many example of good pirates with rp. When you are pointing your fingers to someone else first lookout at your own activities. How could you say others wrong when you are not right? First be an example of good then tell others to be good. EDIT : 4 years doesnt mean 4 years of powertrading.. It means 4 hours of gameplay. Mostly in corsairs and outcasts. For what i achived you can see my profile. Mining concept come few months ago. I know how much profitable it is.. But didnt help me to gain much. I made most of my money by playing missions in gamma. I dont think i have to learn RP from you. And when you are posting on forum try not to hurt people below the belt.
