Recruit ID - Fuski - 12-02-2013

Something I've been noticing lately. I'm seeing a larger populous of traders donning recruit ID's. Yes. I see the point in having one. Setting up a ship or allegiance rep.

But if you're ranked 80. Flying around a Bison, Or whale, Or any ship larger than 1k, Wouldn't that be abusing the "YouCan'tPirateMeCauseI'mOORP-ID'dHAHAHA" part of it? At what point does a Recruit ID become useless to have besids abusing the immunity to RP?

RE: Recruit ID - Sabru - 12-02-2013

yes. that would be abusing the system. because using an ooRP ID to avoid RP, especially if the person is powertrading, is a gigantic no no.

I don't think the admins would do much about it. But If you don't know about it I started a Universal rule thread. I wanted to post one up there with ID's to not abuse such. Maybe at some point or some rank that the community could accept as a boundry overstepping of the ID abuse. Like Rank 60 or so. Something that indicates it's a large ship, or a smaller ship with a large pool of money. At that point the COMMUNITY could enforce a rank limit where the recruit ID becomes Null and Void.

If the admin's see this then we could come to a conclusion or decision that if a trader has this ID, a large ship, and suitable rank, then they could be pirated regardless of the ID's rules. Anyone Agree? Then there wouldn't be any abuse of the ID anymore. And since there are restarts, why use the ID?

If you see a trader (with cargo in the cargo hold) using a Recruit ID on purpose, take a screenshot and make a rule violation report. It is against the server rules to trade while using a Recruit ID. If you read the ID, you'll notice a line that says "Cannot trade or escort traders.".

Only time I fly a large transport with a recruit ID is if I am setting up a character - sometimes you cant get a ID and then get the ship - the 5k cargo train for example cant be gotten with some Id's.

I'd suggest a similar course of action to the one recommended in this thread. If you can inform or remind them of the rules and they change it themselves, good; if not, we can... help in their education.

Oh and this is five days old I see.

Put a line in the ID that says:

Player is not exempt from piracy/being attacked if they're carrying cargo/code guns.

Player can not fire on other vessels what so ever (I think it already says that).

Or if you chose to read the thread I linked, the third post starts with "Vigilantism is not the answer".
Preferably make sure they are not simply mistaken, but if it is abuse of the ID then file a report.
