Nomad attacking PoB - MithrasG - 04-08-2016
Greetings, I was wondering that, as ingame the Nomads and The Wild can attack Players on sight... However I have a question about PoB's... Even Nomads and The Wild players(even with Indie ID's) have to post a thread before attacking and destroying a PoB? or Does that rule not apply for them as they are Nomads/The Wild?
PS: Yes I am aware that this question is a newbie one, I would just like to know....

Okay, I am kinda frustrated now... As our PoB operating out of Omicron Delta was destroyed by Nomads while no warning/declaration was made only after the base was destroyed it was posted into PoB attack thread.... I know that Nomads use "different language" but doesn't it conflict the rules of the server? Just going to destroy that PoB because we do not like it..... In Theory the Nomads could destroy basically every PoB in game and without a warning and going "ohh yeah we do not like it, nor you like us. Everything must be destroyed"
Or am I just not understanding rules no more.... As rules "should" apply to all.... Shouldn't they?

File a violation report. That was clearly less than eight hours between declaration and attack.

Nomads must abide rules as well. They have to provide notice in this thread of attack at least 8 hours prior to attacking station.

Just to inform you, Core was advised to protect Revelation and we even did a patrol therefore.

A Core 1 POB attack must have an attack declaration post at least 8 hours prior to an attack.
A Core 2 or above POB attack must have an attack declaration post at least 24 hours prior to an attack.
Attack declaration posts are valid for two weeks after posting.

The reason for this change is that although rulewise a Core 1 base does not require RP, in practice both house governments and unlawful factions have forced the majority of those wanting to build a base to conduct RP with others. It would not be fair to have all that effort to build a POB and then have it destroyed without notice.

But the station was destroyed only three hours after that - Core knows that because Lyth told us to do the patrols and make sure your station gets to core 2. The only nomad we saw there was Elune, brain-afk near your station, not attacking it, but Elune got shot down. When we were told about the death message of Installation Revelation, nobody knew who it was. However, it's still a non-legitimated loss.
By the way, Delta was visited by indies quite frequent yesterday. Yes, also by this Navy-IFF Freelancer with a Corsair Gunboat, doing missions from Yaren.

Take a little advise.
Delta is quite not a best place to erect your POB. Try to negotiate with factions that has a selected system in their ZoI, that could prevent such... confuses.

Thank you for coming forth with this information even if it may end with sanctioning a player(that is up to admins, I am not threatening). It does ease my mind at least, don't care about the loss as much but the work we put into it, we were ready to get to lvl 2 core as I was writing the request as well.... I am aware that Omicron Delta is a hostile place, but It's surprising that Nomads are hell bent on destroying PoB's that are lvl 1 cores. Without letting it grow to a formidable strength.... And we had a agreement with the Core and it was a legitimate base and was paid for....
