Pre-flight checks completed, drives nominal, weapons ready: the Mgarr took to her first real patrol after several months of downtime, much to the jubilation of one of the engineering crews Valetta-side that spent 3-hours prior getting her No.3 drive turbine working again. We RDVed with the Pellestrina not long afterward and set course for Omicron Beta.

A few hours later as I was settling into my officer's quarters, I was called back up to the bridge: Apparently in our absence from full space-operations, the National Council was busy, as a number of BDM vessels came along our patrol route. We exchanged "pleasantries" for a time, largely initial-contact information; standard procedure. I'll spare the record the trouble of a detailed recap - that's what the recordings are there for - but largely their arrangement with the Nationals seems to be a friendly and beneficial one. We would be wise to continue to nurture and grow it as much as possible where applicable.

Little else ensued following their departure, we're presently on-course within the set patrol's timetable and will be heading back towards Ibiza by the end of the weekend. All relevant data has been attached below for the record vault.

Feed established. This is the freighter Linosa reporting from Freeport 2, having moved my asset down to assist the Director's attempts at establishing contact with the local parties in power in and around Liberty space.

As fortune would have it, the trip itself wasn't wasted, and contact in their Texas system was made immediately with one who calls herself a former 'Warlady' of the Liberty Rogues. Special attention should be paid to the interaction between her and other elements of what we would have recognized as the Rogue main body. Logs of the interaction are provided below in an attachment to this message. As a side note, she apparently did most of her Maltese dealings with the Crimson Cross. Chances are there's someone in our high command that knows her personally.

After the contact was concluded, this unit returned to quarters on Freeport 2, where I encountered a pilot that supposedly belonged to the Liberty Navy, in contrast to all indications that the system had been abandoned by Liberty following the destruction of its jump gate into Rheinland. To further compound the mystery, the pilot did not react to my presence at all, despite a bit of verbal provocation. The encounter concluded with no further incident and the freighter was docked safely on Freeport 2. Scans of the Navy vessel are included below.

That's all for now.

Feed established. This is the raiding transport Lampione reporting from Cali Base, Tau 23. This message is to alert Command to the presence of a new base being constructed in the southern beryllium fields of the system, near the Gallic supply lines. If allowed to exist this base will become a threat to our piracy operations there. Attached is a guncam image of the base and its location.

That's all for now.

Feed established. This is the raider Linosa reporting from Freeport 2 while on assignment there to assist the Director in diplomatic outreach to the faction known as Der Alster Union, henceforth referred to simply as Unioners.

I encountered a person with the identifier of Alise von Ravensfield, an odd honorific considering the day and age we live in, who while not claiming to speak for her organization entirely did hint at having some power within it. She was therefore deemed an acceptable contact with whom to begin our outreach.

Initial negotiations and salutations seemed promising, with her specifically stating that they had wished to do business with our people and I in turn giving her a very brief rundown of recent Maltese history in turn, but there was a snag; an apparently cloaked Liberty Navy vessel crashed the discussion, followed closely by a Xeno Alliance fighter, both of whom were slinging insults and eavesdropping on the discussion. After a lot of grandstanding by both sides I eventually suggested that discussions continue on the Neural Net between our two parties, for increased security.

It was very odd to see a Xeno vessel show up more or less in time with a Naval one. Coincedence? We will need to look out for possible alliances being drawn against us, however unlikely, as we attempt to reach back into Liberty in the future.

No guncams were deemed necessary as there was no battle. However, full communication logs of the encounter are included below.

That's all for now,

--Ambassador,
Freighter Linosa

Feed established. This is the raider Linosa reporting from Freeport 2 while on assignment there to assist the Director in diplomatic outreach to the faction known as Der Alster Union.

While communiques are exchanged between our respective command structures my mission in the system has ground to a halt. Having little authority to continue talks on my own and with no members of the Union present I guided my ship to the neighboring Texas system, in hopes of perhaps interdicting some hapless trader on the lanes. (A siesta, I called it. Sometimes I wonder whether being so far from home has affected me mentally.)

However, upon returning to the Freeport after an unsuccessful attempt, I chanced upon a Union freighter that was also returning to the station. The adjoining base had its shield raised as though it were under attack, and soon Madam von Ravensfield had launched to speak to me once again, along with two other surprise guests: a battleship of Libertonian manufacture under the callsign Chefornak, and a siege cruiser of Libertonian manufacture under the callsign of Arctique. Neither vessel appeared to be crewed or otherwise under the jurisdiction of the Liberty Navy itself, instead belonging to a group referred to as "the seppies" and more specifically a Battlegroup Harmony, an organization I personally am unfamiliar with. Scans of both vessels, as well as one of their supply vessels that did not participate in the conversation, are included with this report.

Of most interest was their lack of hostily towards me, something highly unusual among forces within Liberty of any kind that aren't somehow attached to the Rogues or Junker factions. Also of note was that the two capital ships seemed to be at odds with one another at one point, even engaging in a mock battle that damaged the battleship's hull, despite earlier comments that it was undergoing repairs. Areas of special note in the comms logs are denoted with orange.

Midway through the encounter a Union "Spyglass" battleship buzzed the freeport on its way further into the asteroid field, likely towards their Pacifica Base. The vessel was either heavily damaged and emitting a large amount of EM radiation, or else had been fitted with some sort of EM field generator that burned out most ancillary systems on my Dromedary. A visible field of arcing electricity surrounded the craft. Scans of this ship are included as well, at least what I could acquire before the device was destroyed.

Attempts to learn more about Battlegroup Harmony may prove fruitful to our operations in the area. At the very least they seemed friendly to the Union, and should be treated as neutral by our ships until and unless proven otherwise.

That's all for now.

Good evening, gentlemen.

I have received and gone over a report that was provided to me by one of my boys. It seems as though the expansion and the state of operations in the Omicron Beta system was has gone on well enough, to the point where the assigned worker at the time could get in touch with both the Junker Congress as well as the Lane Hackers, among the usual non-affiliated rifraff. The site itself is rich and very easy to operate in, but I was myself genuinely surprised that there were no incidents involving the Gas Miners Guild, nor the Corsair Empire.

I did not ask for them to keep accurate track of the exported amount of goods, given it was a test run and all, but it seems as though the test was successful and Malta has received a total of 200 000 units, while around 10 000 were exported to Liberty, and 12 000 to Rheinland.

I am sad to say that I have also read the report made yesterday. It seems one of my workers had heard a rumor of the mining site in Omicron Gamma and that the obtained material could be recovered and shipped to Malta for processing. This was, of course, a person who did not even bother to check the validity of this information. A covert mining operation was later conducted with the involvement of a total of 4 Directorate vessels and a few bystanders. At the time, a total of 9 000 units of Xeno Relics were obtained right under the Corsair noses, which in by itself is a fine display of the coordination on our side and the lack thereof on theirs.

As far as I can see, once it was clear that the cargo was useless in back in Omicron Alpha, it was transported to Rheinland in an attempt to establish better ties with the local Junker establishments. While the cargo was sold, there were no high-standing members in the immediate area to report this to, so perhaps in the end it was truly a waste of time. The worker in question was punished for this and I will make sure that the Amaradori family provide a more suitable specimen to govern the operation next time.

This is Agent de Trastamara, piloting the light scout Gavi, reporting in.

A few days ago, we encountered a Blood Dragon in Tau-37 visiting the local Freeport. They were a member of the so-called Augus clan, a family within their feudal system. This family is of some repute and seems to harbor a grudge against two other clans. The one they hate most is known as the Kijima clan, whom they resent for accepting foreigners into their ranks. The other clan, called the Yubokumin, appears to be less hated, though feared as a shadowy organization that does not respect their primitive traditions.

It is in the best interests of the Directorate and Malta to exploit these petty rivalries and archaic feudal hierarchies to great effect when dealing with the Blood Dragons.

Signing off.

Junior Agent Cruz,

I have an assignment for you: high priority, high classification. Discuss it with noone until you've returned, and report directly to me.

There's an old contact I'd like you to meet with in my stead on Freeport 6. Black Pawn Pub is the location, give the bartender my name, and they'll show you to the private meeting rooms. Someone will meet you there to give you something. That something is to come directly to me and nobody else. Do you understand?
