Been like this since the time we lived in the caves ....

Be a wolf or a sheep ...

There are no wolves in my country... but there are millions of sheep!

And who said we lived in caves. Evolution is a hypothesis.

Evolution is a theory, which is scientifically the best one can achieve. Early man lived in huts and tents, soetimes built near and at the entrance of caves and under overhangs.

The scientific method includes 2 episodes. The first consists of formulating hypotheses; the second consists of experimentally testing them. Scientific knowledge focus' more on the second... subjecting hypothesis to empirical testing.

A hypothesis can only be scientific if it is consistent. Evolution is not consistent as it is consistent with some but not other possible states of affairs not observed. Therefore it can not be defined as a theory. There is intelligent design as a counter to evolution.

“I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon. I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details.” Einstein.

Of all topics, this is probably not the best one to discuss on the forums.

First things first, science as a field of human activity is based on empirical proofs and verifiability. Any Ph.D. student would tell you that to publish an article one must provide the data to the review committee so that the latter can try to reproduce your results. Inability to reproduce results accounts for up to 20% of papers revocation. Here you defined it correctly.

Now to the second part. Modern Evolutionary Theory (aka synthetic evolutionary theory because of relying on proofs from various scientific fields) is not a hypothesis, but a theory. There are a lot of consistent empirical proofs be they from genetics (von Baer's evo-devo and links of DNA to molecular genetics that indicate how the evolutionary development happened on molecular level), palaeontology (fossils, that are well-classified into evolutionary groups wherein one can trace the development of species), chemistry (Miller-Urey experiment that synthesized amino-acids in conditions similar to early Earth in support of abiogenesis), etc. These findings can be verified and are constantly reviewed.

Intelligent design, on the other hand, is not a scientific theory because it lacks the core principle of verifiability that we set forth above. You cannot either prove or refute intelligent design, same as most postulates of religion, ergo rendering it outside the scope of science. There is a reason why theology is not a science (as scholars of theology state in their works, the source of their "data" and findings is faith, not empirical proofs).

Intelligent design is not a theory, and anyone claiming it to be such is not well-versed in academic research. It also does not stand even philosophical criticism as it cannot stand the test of Popper's criterion or Occam's razor (it raises more questions than answers, like if there is a creator - who was the creator, where it came from, how it came to be, etc). Besides, even if we take on faith the intelligent design which Christians favour so much, the believers of other faiths can always put forward a question if it wasn't their god(s) as opposed to Christian one who seeded life.

In the end, the burden of proof lies on the one who claims. The supporters of intelligent design clearly have failed so far to present credible proofs and argumentation, hence their hypothesis is refuted for the lack of evidence. Modern Evolutionary Theory is not perfect, but it is being developed as more and more empirical evidence are unveiled.

Discovery GC literally is an example of intelligent designers at work. Indeed all the posts show intelligence above base instinctive promptings.

There is order. There is evidence of intelligent design. Even the fact that we can wonder and ponder how we came to be is a signal to us... we are not alone! o.0

1. Flood is the right sub-forum for this
2. I've seen people having their episodic psychoses with religious themes before
3. This discussion is going nowhere, and fast.

Disclaimer: The above points are not necessarily related to anything.
