This message concerns the entire Bretonia Kingdom and the Republic of Liberty.

My name is Jim Alber and I am one of the many officers of Gladius battlegroup (once known as the Hellfire Legion). Like all my comrades who come from the Liberty Navy or the Police (or even the Security Forces) - I pay my respects to all those officers who hear this message.

I have no distaste for Bretonian or Liberty officers: the fathers of the latter's recruits may have stood shoulder to shoulder with me in Liberty-Rheinland war. You guys are true warriors who fight to protect your homeland from dangers.

But I also have my home. And this is the Vespucci system. Like you, I'm fighting to keep war out of my home. However, our home may very soon be destroyed by your troops advancing from the Kansas and Magellan systems: on the one hand, we will be hit by the Republic, on the other, by the Kingdom. Bretonia already perfectly understood how failed the breakthrough idea was: some of your soldiers died for nothing, and the other was captured by us.

You have come to our land. You have come to the land of those who choose to live free from that Republic sworn to defend the ideals of freedom. Those ideals for which I fought and for which people die to this day. Liberty refused to accept our independence, refused to respect our choice, thereby forgetting about the democratic foundations that existed for more than a century. What did they do? They made us look like traitors in every possible way, and now that they realized that they had enough soldiers to kill, they will send them to die. Some of those who received this message are already serving in Kansas system.

We have seen those who spit on other people's freedoms. These people burned down Leeds, these people almost destroyed New London. It took a lot of human resources, great courage of many of ours and yours, to defeat this beast, which is now licking its wounds and preparing for the next attack. Your disregard for human choice will raise another beast, but already among you. Who will become them, Liberty or Bretonia - decide for yourself.

You will come into our system, many people will die, on both sides. And then what? What is the end goal? You will not kill evil pirates who kill civilians for personal gain. You will not destroy the remnants of the Gallic Kingdom's genocidal regime. You will not defeat the aliens who want to kill humanity. You will kill those who want to live freely and as they see fit. You will turn into real executioners.

We offer you the opportunity to turn around and return home. I will die for my home, which I swore to protect. You will die for nothing. Bretonian officers who were captured by us can be returned if the Kingdom gives a guarantee that it will no longer interfere in our conflict with the Republic. I doubt that the lives of your people are not as important as an alliance with those who are becoming more and more into new Gallia. At some point, they will come for you, and Leeds story will repeat itself.

If you refuse my words and go further, then be prepared for fierce resistance: although I ask you not to attack our house, I am determined to arrange a real meat grinder for the well-being of those who live with us. I will not regret your deaths and the deaths of my comrades, because, I repeat, we knew what we were going for.

But you knew?

Shame.

You come to our lands, to our borders, presenting it as a "great good," while you do not value lives of people living in Vespucci. You offer us surrender, expecting an easy battle, for when you receive a refusal, you immediately start shooting.

And this is the price you pay.

I don't care about the corruption clause. Only an idiot would join the Commonwealth or the Legion of Hellfire because of this. Corruption is just one of the points, a "drop in the ocean" that is not the key point. It was far from the most important ideal of our whole movement.

We defend our home, we also defend it from a Commonwealth government that has treacherously traded our allies for its own well-being: their political views have become inclined not toward mutual benefit, but toward their personal one. The kind of profit every representative of the Liberty government seeks when exchanging your lives for money.

We value different things and choose our own way of life for which we are willing to fight to the last. "Military dictatorship" is the justification for your aggressive actions against the Vespucci system and its inhabitants. As pathetic an excuse as you accuse our ideals of being corrupted by our collaboration with outcasts and other pirates.

In addition to Harmony's men, the high command includes men from the Legion: those who once led us all through the fire. I'm willing to doubt that Harmony will remain in Vespucci in their hour of need, but I have no doubt that none of the former Legion officers would be as frightened of a threat as you are.

If necessary, we will all die to the last man. You were given a warning, and you ignored it. "The road to victory" will be paved with mountains of your corpses. I know you do what your duty tells you to do. It's better to admit that you've been ordered and have no other choice, but don't try to justify your actions with "good intentions".

Liberty and Bretonian officers,,

My name is Isaac Barrington, and I am the commander of the Veracruz Battle Group responsible for evacuating the Breton refugees from our planet.

I address the officers of Bretonia and Liberty as those who once met the Gallic threat shoulder to shoulder. Those with some of whom even I had to stand beside to repel the royalist attacks that burned the planet Leeds. I know that you are men of honor and ready to fight for a just cause.

What is happening now shows the other side of the Republic and the Kingdom. It is as if the Royalists have sneaked inside the two nations and have come to dominate and divide, putting all those who have fought for freedom and the right to live under their influence. Now you take that right away from those who are not guilty of anything - the Breton refugees, who just want to get away from the hell that is happening and finally start life with a clean slate.

To clarify:

• Liberty Security Forces is threatening the death penalty to any civilian vessels attempting to rescue Bretonia refugees from the Vespucci system who are moving into Liberty Republic space.
  
• Bretonia threatens to forcibly stop and arrest all people on evacuation ships attempting to fly through the Cortez and Magellan systems to safety. Such as Coronado.
  

This is unnatural. It's wrong. You can see for yourselves what it can lead to. If you don't understand the big picture, I'll fill you in with more details:

• Bretonia has previously stated that it is not ready to accept refugees into its territory. We have stated that refugee ships will not transfer refugees to the kingdom, and that the Magellan, Cortez and Manchester systems (in the case of Bretonia) are only a flyby route, but not its end point.
  
• All of the people on the liners or armored transports are specifically Bretonian civilians who fled the war on the planet Leeds. We can confirm this, because most of them have documents proving they belong to the Kingdom. They are women, crippled men, old men and children. Will you kill the children? Will you raise your weapons against those who want a peaceful life? Against defenseless people?
  
  Only a small fraction of the refugees remained on Veracruz as the ideology of the Insurgency became sympathetic to them. None of them or the Insurgents themselves made it onto the liner, they remained in the planet's protective garrison, as is required for the moment in light of recent circumstances.
  

Are you ready to kill civilians? Then how will you be different from royalists? We have already seen an act of genocide, we all fought against such things not to have them happen again. Think twice before pointing guns at the liners: that blood will be on your hands.
