Good day,

I hope this finds you well. My name is Alexander Bayner, recently appointed Secretary for Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Malta. It has been some time since this office made any formal contact with your main branch, and given recent events the administration felt it was crucial to remedy that. I'm aware that much of the prior contact between our two groups was done by both members of the Armed Forces, as well as my predecessor Ms. Iltzmann. I hope to be just as able as they were.

To begin, I want to start by informing the Guild that any of their vessels, main branch or independent, can expect the Armed Forces to provide assistance or escort within the Taus should it be needed. This offer was recently extended to two smaller syndicates of the IMG, and we see no reason not to offer it in an official capacity to the IMG's primary branch as well, no matter the circumstances between the IMG and our hosts in the Crayter Republic.

On that topic, I've been asked to inform the IMG of a matter that has recently been made aware to the Republic regarding the survivors of the Liner Nagapasa. Until recently, the crew and leadership of the vessel in question have been in custody on Planet Yuma, pending what we're assuming to be a military tribunal. This matter has come to a head, with the more civil-minded members of the Crayterian leadership preferring a proper trial through the nation's judiciary system, potentially allowing the ship's crew, though not the command staff, to be released without further hindrance. This critically we've been told is something many on Yuma would prefer over something overseen by the military.

On top of my being asked to bring this matter to the Guild's attention, I've also been asked to inform the Guild that a public statement favoring a civil trial for the liner's crew would likely urge public pressure enough to see the matter through. While it would be far from ideal, as I suspect we like the Guild would prefer the whole crew return to Java, it would nevertheless be preferential to the alternative.
Whatever the Guild chooses to do with this information in hand, however, is yours.

Despite the critical issues impacting the Tau sector as of late, I look forward to ensuring renewed cooperation with the Guild going forward.

Take care.
