Honored representatives of the Independent Miners Guild.
My name is Sabrina Iltzmann, Secretary of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Malta. It was quite some time ago, over two and a half years, when the IMG had any contact with our people. At that time, Mr. Santiago and his men ran under the title of the '72nd Fleet of Malta', and to my knowledge provided safe passage for Guild personnel caught in the crossfire of a Nomad attack within Tau-23, among other services. It is still a principle that we uphold today as part of the Codex, and in memory of these past relations, and a still current ceasefire if I recall correctly, I am reaching out to the IMG once more in an attempt to reestablish diplomacy.
I believe we did not yet have the pleasure of acquaintance. My name is Kirigiri Kyoko, Guildmaster of the Independent Miners Guild.
I am personally unfamiliar with the past connections of the 72nd Fleet and The Guild, and the recent events have demanded us being especially cautious about strangers claiming to have good intentions, last time our former allies have done this - it costed us our crucial asset in the Omegas, and we are still mending injures from this... unfortunate accident.
We will give your proposition a benefit of doubt and hear you out, but should anything go wrong - i will immediately cease the diplomatic talks. We've had plenty of troubling coincidences as of late, and i definitely would not want to add another one to the list of The Guild's concerns.
Speak your mind, Miss Itzmann.
I, as well as the Republic, understand fully the position of the IMG. News had reached us of the Omega troubles, an unfortunate series of events to be sure, and from our position all we can do is pray that it will not last. On that front, you have our sympathies.
However, this brings to light a considerable concern. While I am unsure if the IMG has any further shipyards at their disposal beyond Singapore, the only one we're aware of, I believe I can speak for Mr. Santiago and the Defense Department when I say that helping the IMG keep the station is of the utmost importance, especially given the proximity to Jakarta and the opportunistic nature of the ruling body of Malta and any other growing pirate organizations in the Tau regions. As the Republic sees the IMG as a friend against the growing expanse of the corrupted officials of Malta, as well as their horrendous trades, I would like to offer to the IMG the potential service of the Republic's trading divisions to keep the IMG supplied and prepared for whatever may happen.
I believe this can potentially be a start to mending our relations past the usual view most people see of the Maltese, as well as ensuring that the potential worst is prepared for. Should you have any questions or any offers of the Republic, please relay them here. Until then, I will look forward to the IMG's response.
Farewell.
Firstly, i feel like a formal apologise should take place. The Guild have been through a rather lengthy process of miss Kirigiri stepping down from her position, which is the main reason behind this unjustified delay. Still, i guess that the currently remarkably unstable position makes me the spokesperson for the Board of Guildmasters, even if temporarily. My name is Celestia Ludenberg, but you may simply address me as miss Ludenberg - or Celeste if you prefer a less formal approach.
The Guild have indeed been through a remarkable crisis in the Omegas, which have later spreaded over our Bretonia and Tau holdings as well, which have resulted in a loss of multiple facilities of varying importance, among the most remarkble ones - Aland Shipyard and Forst Siloso, that was recently destroyed by the independent Outcast fleet assets rallied under the banner of the menacing Maltese Military Research Insititute along with the now disassembled Cadiz Cartel. I am inclined to believe you familiar with both of those primary sources of concern since the conflict with Bretonia have winded down and Crayter seems to forgot about their little crusade.
We have, to a degree, recovered from the blows we have taken during the climax of the Gallic War, but our position is still fragile as it is, and we are focused on rebuilding our former ties and, possibly, establishing new ones; our trouble, however, are still at the beginning of them, for i am inclined to believe quite a few parties will look favourably at us after they got the taste of their own medicine from such a meager, insignificant power that went down this path out of necessarity and not by free will. You would not just stand there watching everyone turning your backs on you while you sought assistance in the only friendly face that did not have the desire to lay their hands on your property and exterminate anyone who gets in the way with extreme prejudice.
Times, however, have changed. The alliance that have been forged out of necessarity of insurance of survival of the Guild in Taus have grown tedious: Marine Royale frequencies have fell dark, and their remnants, apparently, have merged with the Enclave now residing in Herbides; a bloodthirsty junta responsible for rendering Leeds an uninhabitable planet for centuries ahead and the genocide at New London - over seven hundred million souls were lost to the bombardments during the atmospheric battle.
Out of necessarity, we have adopted the view of seeing Marine Royale as our temporary salvation, for they were among those who have not turned their backs on us when we needed it the most. What we can not cope with is such... unparalleled murderous intent brought to reality by some insane mastermind that, we believe, have now deceased, and will no longer corrupt this world with it's existence.
But i am getting too much into semantics.
I have took on myself a freedom to review the Guild archives - only to run across one particularly interesting case of actually positive interaction of the Guild paramilitary with an Outcast entity refered to as 72nd Legion, and a particular individual - commander Randall Santiago. I am curious if the Republic is somehow related to the aforementioned entity and individual or not.
Nonetheless, as unnatural as it may sound for the current course of the Guild - we are open to hear your proposition out and give it a degree of consideration. So please, share your thoughts on the matter and i will address them as soon as i get a spare moment.
It is good to hear from the IMG after such a prolonged absence of communications. Given the troubles that have plagued the IMG throughout the ending days of the Gallic War, it's understandable that internal issues may have arisen. Regardless, the Republic would still like to take steps to rectify the wrongdoings of the homeworld, especially after such destruction at the hands of terrorists.
I can assure you that Mr. Santiago is still with us, and serves as the Republic's Secretary of Defense, organizing our Armed Forces and ensuring that the Republic's strength is upheld. His actions in the past are what spurred us to commune with the IMG, during the tenure of Jack Henderson, and work towards a more beneficial relationship, and eventually hope to repair Malta's broken image.
As such, I would like to propose a trading pact to coordinate resistance against the forces of the homeworld, and perhaps to offer the Republic's transporting flotilla in the event the IMG would wish to construct a replacement for the late Fort Siloso. Such would offer us an avenue of cooperation past the already present ceasefire, and allow for the IMG to rebuild the strength lost with the Fort.
Firstly, allow me to express sincere gratitude for your swift response and intriguingly kind words; this minor administrative turmoil, i hope, will not last longer than necessary, and i will ensure to preserve the integrity of The Guild and the Board of Guildmasters throughout that period in it's entirety, for it, frankly, is my actual duty now, that miss Kirigiri resignation have been confirmed and ratified.
The loss of Fort Siloso was, without a doubt, a painful blow, perhaps, a more serious one that we have suffered when the Aland was annexed, and i am currently unsure if it is wise to reconstruct the installation, as iconic as it was to The Guild and corporations and independent merchants all across the Sirius sector - for now, i am afraid, we would find our resources severely lacking for such a daunting task, and a defense matter still stands unresolved. As long as those issues are not addressed properly - it seems unwise, almost detrimental for the Guild to invest in such a long-term project. Besides, we would expect another swift act of aggression of Malta against such attempt. Such possibility makes it an only more doubtful endeavour we would like to avoid - unless we are certain in the security of construction site.
However, i am inclined to believe it is imperative for the entity seeking to establish a formidable trade pact with The Guild to be aware of the steps The Guild took to partially recover from the crisis that we have endured in the climax of the Gallic War. Our Omega bastion, Falster station, still stands, and serves in it's entirety to the trustworthy individuals and entities as a safe harbor amidst the chaotic and hazardous Omega systems. Republic becoming a part of this community depends on you, and is not entirely impossible - in honor of the past achievements and the current flow of this discussion, that is, i have to admit, is quite to my liking.
Furthermore, Madeira base, serving as another bastion of The Guild in Omegas, had it's purpose extended - to a ship building and maintenance facility, yet another product of ingenuity of The Guild's hard-working people. that is still in need of a fraction of basic resources, for our own logistical division may only cover a part of the existing demand.
My key point is, that The Guild have not changed in it's essence, despite growing some fangs and once again proving it's strength and endurance to the entirety of SIrius: we are miners, and we are still conducting our operations where the others avoid to, for the price for such daring operations may cost the soft-blooded corporate weenies dearly.
All in all - i am open to ratify this pact and open the trade between the Republic of Malta and The Guild; would you want to add something specific into it - let us know and we may discuss the details.
The Republic is readily open to the prospect of trade with the IMG, and while our people rarely venture beyond the expanses of the Northern Bretonian Clearing coordinative measures make the mention of such rather intriguing. Should the Republic be offered clearing to your installation at Falster, I'm certain our captains would welcome the opportunity to provide any supplies that may be needed to it. Madeira would be a bit more of a stretch, given its location within territory often traversed by Corsairs, as well as the sheer distance from where the Republic typically operates, but over time the Republic would likely welcome the ability to support the IMG there as well.
Should the above be acceptable, then I will happily support ratification of this pact on the Republic's behalf.
I have deemed it acceptable to go out of the way of the bureaucratic machine and grant Republica de Malta vessels docking rights on Falster without following the official application procedure, however, i would still suggest to address Falster internal frequency and follow the procedure for the convenience of keeping our own documentation up to date. Furthermore, i strongly suggest to familiarise yourself with the base own regulations and the regulations of The Guild. These are to be followed and respected at all times indefinitely.
