Use it. That's how you model a ship really. You can look for tips and hints but apart from that, it's really just working at it. Ship modellin' - Luis - 04-09-2010 Download from here: http://www.metaseq.net/english/ Thats Meta. Best and easiest 3d modeling program for people out there. Even a Cave Man can do it. Tips/Hints: -Get used to the Perspectives (Shapes) -Get use to the create button (You'll need it to close some gaps) -Use the Extrude/Bevel button (This is your partner Forever!) -Get used with the Move/Scaling button -Play with it alot until you got a good understanding of what to do. Also, when you open the program, make sure the Basic Mode is 'OFF'. Can't find it? Go to File>Basic Mode (make sure the check is off) Now, get to work and practice on it when you got time up your sleeve, Padawan. -Luis Ship modellin' - Anonymous User - 04-09-2010 thanks guys... good starter tips... i hope anybody can put my models into FL if i make a good ship^^ /away until server is back... it must be destiny that the server is down^^ now a have time to training my modder skills xDDD /edit: cause you helpin me i tried to mod a heard for you^^ i know its not much pretty but its my first 3d model and i only had 5 minutes:D Ship modellin' - Korolia - 04-10-2010 small search on forum leads to this. http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...c=32640&hl= Ship modellin' - Luis - 04-10-2010 ' Wrote:small search on forum leads to this. To tell you the truth, that Tutorial is garbage. Best way to get tutorials is to go on Youtube or Google - like I did. Thats how i learned. from there on - you'll know what to do. And trust me, I had experience. It is also pretty much the industry standard along with 3DS Max. I suggest starting with a box and just extrude the faces. Then start again...and again...until you can get a good responce from the community. It is also pretty much the industry standard along with 3DS Max. I'll agree with this, if you end up switching to 3ds Max there are a lot of us here who are familiar and able to help. We also have a few Maya users too, I think. Hmm, despite that just practice. Experiment and have fun. I think its probably the best out of all of them. You can't hop in and drive it but its easier than 3DS Max in my opinion. |
