In order to really create diversity in shielding and to make people think about who they will fight, I suppose the following:

- Increase the damage amplification/reduction of shields to 1.4 from 1.2
- Make pulses neutral, so they always deal normal damage
- Give different Codename guns different weapon types (Particle, Laser etc.)
- Give Capship turrets a weapon type

Because, as of now, Graviton shields are almost always the best choice, followed by Molecular. Positron shields are barely viable, because of their weakness to Pulses.

And if we're already at it, use FLHook to make energy distribution possible. So from Weapons Power to Shield Power / Regen to Speed, etc.

I would very much like to see the non-fighter guns given type, and even the torpedoes and ect.

I don't think you have to make a shield buster a pulse, which gives you an option to variate in there, as well.

That shield busters are all of a type, and there's a shield strong against that type, is something of a balance mistake, I think. At the very least, it makes the other shields irrelevant.

Meh, everybody's shields go down pretty quick, its the hull and cap8 that wins it.

My preference would be to make the pulse weapons affect all shields equally. That gets us more variety for faction-v-faction without the extra complexity of having to balance the shield damage types.

I wouldn't mind seeing the universal cap weaps get certain damage types though.

No. -20/+20% damage is a large difference as is.

This is already being done.

- Give different Codename guns different weapon types (Particle, Laser etc.)
Worth considering, but not for 4.86.

- Give Capship turrets a weapon type
And have factions request a second capgun line as well? No thanks... Too much work for too little payout.

Making pulses do equal damage to all shield types should remove the shield bias entirely, and equalize all weapon types in regards to popularity. I expect quite a few folks to jump over to a Molecular shield.
