Nebulae
Guerrero Asteroid Cloud
A large rocky asteroid field containing trace amounts of copper and bauxite. The metallic dust field within the cloud has a significant dampening effect, rendering ship sensors largely ineffective. This cloud used to be heavily patrolled by the Insurgent forces prior to their defeat in 829 AS by the Liberty Navy.
Previous heavy presence of the Insurgency forces had led many space vagrants and explorers to believe that there are some secret Insurgent military assets, still hiding in the cloud and ready to be discovered. These beliefs are further cemented by the fact that the Liberty Navy never ventured deep into the cloud during the final battles of their campaign.
Asteroid Fields
Tijuana Ice Field
A large ice asteroid field that was once a trailing portion of Sonora Ice Field. While it used to be patrolled by both the Insurgency patrols and the Gaian raiders, now it remains eerily silent after the Insurgency was destroyed by the Liberty Navy in 829 AS.
Tijuana Ice Field remains considered as a serious navigation hazard for all space traffic, mainly because of the numerous undetonated mines that used to be a part of the Insurgency's defensive lines and remains of the BAF cruiser taskforce which unsuccessfully tried to invade the system through the Magellan anomaly.
Sonora Ice Field
The ice asteroids of Sonora were originally part of the Barrier, pulled into the gravity well of the Vespucci system over time. In the waning years of the Commonwealth, substantial deposits of silver have been discovered at the northwestern edge of the field, leading to speculation that this field intersected with another belt at some point. No outstanding mining operations have been assembled in the field, however, largely due to the local Gaian garrison targeting Commonwealth, and later Insurgency, operations across Vespucci.
After the defeat of the Insurgency in 829 AS, the activity within the field dropped sharply, with little more than an occasional scavenger or a Gaian scout disturbing the desolate system.
Wrecks
Avarice Wreck - E/F-6
The wreck of a stray pirate vessel that strayed into the Guerrero Asteroid Field. The Aravice was left in place as a warning to future tresspassers.
