Holmfirth Base Holmfirth is a great pitstop for Freelancers travelling between Liberty and Bretonia. Particularly those of us who aren't appreciated on bases such as Sheffield. Still, if you're good with the Gaians, you're likely to be attacked by the Mollies, so travelling away from the Trade Lanes can be dangerous. Trading goods to bases as this doesn't make you as much money as dealing with corporate bases, but goods delivered here mean more than just credchips in my pocket. The Gaians require Munitions, Light Arms, H-Fuel, Engine Components and Hull Panels to keep their ships and activists operational. I heard some of our men stumbled across a Molly yesterday. I've been told the drunk was so scared, he flew straight into the sun. Heh. Not the brightest boys those Mollys. Except for that one, now. Planet Sprague Sometimes when the supplies from Bowex arrive it's like a frenzy comes over people. The police have trouble keeping the crowd from flooding the dock and taking everything that is not bolted down. It's funny. They are going after Kelly like he's some sort of hardened criminal. All he is doing is maintaining the order the Police don't. Even the Militia are realising that. Halifax Freeport Welcome to Halifax. Watch your step - if you couldn't tell from the exterior, there's not much on this station between you and hard vacuum, but I suppose that's efficient in its own way. There's a little of something for everyone here, so long as you keep things civil. If not, like I said - it won't be hard to space ya. Now that Leeds isn't an active warzone anymore, we've gotten quite a bit busier with Junkers and unscrupulous corpos using Halifax as a stop-over to salvage anything the Armed Forces left behind. Could do without the suits pretending they're chummy with us, but the Junkers happily sell us all sorts of parts to keep Halifax running. We're a bit like a Zoner freeport, though with none of the up-their-own-arse NFZs or councils or anything like that. Anybody's welcome so long as they keep the fights to words and the occasional fist. Planet Manhattan, Landing Site Might want to keep your wits about you. Things have been a bit... fraught, lately, what with the whole 'supply chain shortage', mm? Getting harder and harder for some folks to get what they need... and a desperate man makes a poor drinking fellow, wouldn't you say? Planet New London, Landing Site The sound of the rain becomes soothing for vets like me, I know I am here, not there, not back there. Throw a rock and you will hit a Leeds refugee, and they will probably not complain, what is a rock after all they have been through. We used to serve tea and cakes here you know, and now look at the place. Care for a pie and pint? The weather is crap but the booze is always flowing. I once saw a Molly and a Gaian stare at eachother for 2 hours, I think they were related by how ugly they both looked. Business is tough but the clients are tough too, so I cannot think of raising prices. Planet Marseille Around 620 AGS, official colonisation of Marseille began in earnest. A number of luxury resort settlements and platforms were constructed across the planet. Marseille has been the number one destination for celebrities, nobility, rich and even royalty! The short lived Minarchy sprung up here from the Sunken Cities. The fall of the Kingdom created a large uncertainty that the Minarchy later filled as it spread across a few systems. It's rumoured that to help maintain stability the Minarchy were in bed with the Unione Corse, although nothing has been proven. People do not like to openly point it out, but the Unione Corse are not uncommon on Marseille. Rubbing shoulders with the elite, rich and famous is good for their business. Marseille was originally colonized prior to the official sanction from the Gallic Crown in 620 AGS. It has caused some problems as several ocean platforms were constructed without government oversight and operated much like the Freeports of Sirius. The Sunken Cities surfaced not that long ago, offering aid to the people on the surface following the battle between the Kingdom's Arles and Council's Oblique battleships. Nox is derived from several species unique to Marseille that contain specific symbiotic bacteria used to make the powerful stimulant. The substance is processed in various drug laboratories hidden away across the planet. Attempts have been made to cultivate outside of Marseille's complex ecosystem to no avail. Marseille is home to the single largest surface shipyard in Gallia. A range of luxury cruise liners, yachts and even service ships are constructed to service the maritime fleets. Barrier Gate Station A The last guy who didn't pay me now has a bright pink rhino with a cute little duck painted on. Now how do you explain that to someone? Ever had a cardi twister? It's my house speciality, just don't plan on flying, operating heavy machinery or walking with 4 hours of consumption. Hear much about those Colonials? They came here pretty recently, don't think they are fully set up yet. Still wouldn't cross 'em, anyone who fought the Outcasts to a standstill for years isn't someone you mess with. You want to know what is going on around here you had better talk to someone else, unless you are willing to pay me to tell you rumours all night. I am more of a bouncer then a security officer. For the most part we don't give a nano-gram of space dust about what goes on here. Our only goal is to keep things civil between the factions; we don't need war here. Stay away from Pueblo Bonito, I don't know what those Zoners do there, they just tend to get trigger happy when you get too close. We thought our Zoner neighbours in Baffin were going to become competition, but they have surprised us. They tolerate the smuggling through their backyard but have no interest in supporting it. Tailing Bounty Hunters is not the most sought after job in this joint, but if we don't watch what they are up to we could lose our jobs in a second. There is no paycheck if your boss gets murdered. If you have a vice Barriers Gate can satisfy you! Up here we have my bar and few others, down on 14 we have our red light deck, and if you are interested in losing money the Outcasts just finished turning storage area 116 into a full blown casino. Shasta is a unique place; it has to be the only trade station in Sirius that focuses on selling homemade crafts and funky crystals. What is even more surprising is that it is so busy. If you are offering to take me back to your ship it had better have a big cockpit, I hate hitting my head! Have a glass of Honshu juice on the house. Just go easy with that stuff; I don't want to have to scrub any stains out of stool cushions. Did you know there are several areas on the planet's surface where Samura has radar jammers? If you zoom in with the visual cameras all you see is a large island with a compound, a cluster of four small islands, and a section of empty ocean. I think Samura has a secret on Tomioka... One they don't want anyone to know about. This ship is lavishly furnished with works of art and the finest quality appointments. Orbital Spa and Cruise is dedicated to supplying our guests the finest that life has to offer. Luxury Goods are brought here all the way from Manhattan. More recently, the opening of the Gallic market has allowed us access to some fine Holo Sculptures as well. This ship is outside of House space, so the things that go on here might not be completely legal. The Sigma systems are claimed by the Gas Miners Guild, but they usually keep to themselves and their H-Fuel producing business. Government morality can be quite bothersome at times. We provide relief from the burdens of society. Whatever your desire, we will provide it here - no questions asked. Heisenberg Research Station I'm one of the people who's observing the movement of the myriad of planetoid objects visible from this place. The base we are currently on is orbitting Herne, which in turn orbits Steinfurt, which is the only major planet in the system -- and because of galactic drift there are many, many comets either currently passing or scheduled to pass through this very system. Steinfurt itself is like a big bull's eye for them. Whoever built Heisenberg skillfully put it in a La Grange point orbit between Steinfurt and its moon so we're quite well protected, but the folks over at the ALG refinery might be in for a bit of a ride... we've tried to contact them already, but I fear they might just brush it away. You know, I came here from Bretonia to escape a boring life on Cambridge... and I have to say: I will probably stay here for a while. There is something really intriguing about Rheinland and its precision and sense of justice. It's so black and white in a way, but then bathed in shades of grey in another. On one side you have the government which tries to desperately preserve order and prosperity in the face of foreign aggressors, an unforgiving economy and rampant civil unrest. On the other hand you have the large revolutionary movements which try to fight for a better tomorrow, and end up justifying their means with the ends. On the outside they seem like just a bunch of pirates with an unclear goal. But these "pirates" tend to stop here often these days, and I've spoken with them enough and heard their arguments to say this: they do make a good point. This place is quite extraordinary, and not quite because of the lack of politics involved. The imaging equipment here can see all the way around and into the Walker nebula, including the planets on the very fringes and the systems well within. It allows me to conduct research on the movements of planetary bodies within nebulae without the need for me to pander to a private company or government to finance an expedition. And it's not like this is the only kind of research that is going on here, I practically need to fight my colleagues here for access to the main telescope. We're standing on progressive ground, you and I. The next big discovery in the field of astrophysics is going to come out of this place, I'm sure of it. There's not many places in Sirius like this one. The "scientific forum of freedom" is what they call it on Cambridge. Here I can sit down with my colleagues from Liberty, Rheinland... sometimes even Kusari, and debate on the uses and merits of energy absorption in nuclear fusion, without being charged by my government with "conspiring to create weapons of mass destruction" in the process! Well, at any rate astrophysics is my other passion, and I do need lots of supplies to carry on working with this equipment here. And it's not like I am the only one on this station either. If you know anyone who trades in scientific equipment, do point them here will you? Those little red diamonds that some of the smugglers here bring through... have you ever studied them? They have a very interesting structure and composition, I have never seen anything like it. The lattice is so tightly packed, it interferes with light waves passing through it, almost like a prism. These diamonds could only be formed in extremely high pressure, probably on a carbon planet. Oh, what I would give to be able to inspect that planet...
