A replacement for the Crayter "Hydra" class gunboats was needed as it became apparant that the Houses started to object to seeing Crayter combat ships within their space. The Gasherbrum is similar in design and performance, being a little wider, but shorter. Designed in an extremely short time for a ship it's size, the Gasherbum is pushed into service with several issues still unresolved. The ship has been designed with future upgrades in mind.
Despite being unproven, this vessel is set to be produced in significant numbers to defend IMG convoys from enemy bombers.
