According to sensor readings, this Kusari Tokugawa-class warship is equipped with passive cloaking systems, making it difficult to locate on remote sensors and interfering with more detailed scans of the ship and its crew. It also appears to have its IFF transponder disabled, and all incoming and outgoing communications appear to be highly encrypted. With its turrets ready to strike down any unexpected guest, the ship lays in the depths of the nebula, as if awaiting its prey.
As a consequence, the only reliable identifier of the ship is her name, which it still proudly wears on both sides of her bow and stern -- IKN Hakodate, also bearing her unique hull identification number. However, according to the Naval Forces of Kusari, this vessel has never existed, creating a dilemma for those with an interest in investigating its origins. What remains certain is that the ship is seemingly on a secret mission of the Intelligence Office of Kusari -- a task that has become the mainstay way of monitoring the organization's zones of interest in recent years.
The IKN Hakodate is a Sekigahara-class battleship that was assigned to the Intelligence Office of Kusari during the late years of the Gallic invasion of Sirius. At the time, the Hakodate served primarily as a technology testbed for new computer systems and sensors, thus she did not engage in direct combat herself and most of its frontline duty consisted of testing and training.
The vessel's first combat deployment came during her rearmament and tasking as a KOI flag escort ship to the battleship Sado, where it assisted with monitoring the activities of both the Order and the Blood Dragons. During this brief deployment, several minor military operations occurred in the system, providing a precedent for the Wild to easily replace the officers with personnel already compromised.
When war broke out between Kusari and Gallia, the Hakodate was reassigned to the front lines, where she earned several combat honors as an aggressive scout against less experienced Confederal forces.
When Kusari withdrew from Gallia, the Hakodate returned to its post in Tohoku, becoming a mobile surveillance platform for Wild and KNF alike, with the latter unaware of the happenings onboard the ship itself.
In recent months, the Hakodate has seen deployment into the deeper reaches of the Omicrons -- a mission the ship is considered the best at in the entire House of Kusari. With few reasons to return frequently, it now "guards" the home of the Order with one goal, one purpose and under one mind: to completely destroy the Nomad nemesis and its puppets.
