CNO-C Light Fighter Engine
An archaic variant of the CNO-R engine, the CNO-C series is in many ways identical to its parent, but doesn't deliver the same performance curve, having been modified originally to serve the moderate republican Council's need for getting in and out of skirmishes fast in the face of royalist enforcers. The CNO-C propulsion system has been designed with ease of maintenance in mind and is claimed to be repairable as long as supplies of spare parts last. However, following the Council's choice to disarm and join the Confederacy, and following their assimilation into the Union, the CNO-C series is now mostly utilized by the radical republican Maquis. Similar in design to other CNO-based engines, they are manufactured in Gallia and use Promethene as a catalyst to fuse petroleum. Due to the fuel being only available in significant quantities within Gallia, the engines have no export market to speak of. This engine is intended for use on light fighters.
