"TREMOR" Neutron Blaster
With every up-and-coming startup like Selection International, certain designs are an immediate hit. The "Moonblast" tachyon cannon catapulted the firm to the fore of weapon manufacturers and designers, and now nearly every pilot in Sirius is at least familiar with the name, if not the weapon itself. However, behind every success is a long, long string of failures. Codenamed "TREMOR", this neutron blaster was designed to offset the typical disadvantages of the weapon type. Featuring an undersized particle collating coil, combined with redundant and overcharged particle generators and accelerators, the weapon launches a loosely-contained "blob" of neutrons at a high velocity and rate of fire. Interest in the design dwindled after multiple fatal incidents resulted in the loss of numerous test craft, one of which has yet to be recovered.
