The Gallic Frigate was designed to carry assault troops or war supplies to the battlefield without the need for a fighter escort, and is capable of directly assaulting capital ships and space stations. The Taureau was designed around the chassis of the Perilous GRN gunboat, but makes use of a less substantial power core, which freed up considerable space in the interior. The Taureau is thus capable of transporting an entire company of Royal Marines along with their battle gear. The favored tactic of a Taureau Marine assault is to blast open the docking bay doors with turret fire, often supported by a Perilous Gunboat, then land in the decompressed docking bay to disembark troops.
Due to the ship's heavy armor and defensive capabilities, it is sometimes used as a shuttle for prisoners, high value cargo, high ranking military officers, diplomats and even members of the Gallic Royal court.
