AXI-A-450 "Ionstream MK1" Propulsion
Originally based off of a highly classified project named "Lightrider," this experimental design was built to aid vessels in sustaining longer flights at a lower energy consumption. The inner works of this propulsion system remains one of the many very close guarded secrets and mysteries within the Covenant, but rumors hint that a rare alien material is used, and with the infrequency of sightings, it is suggested that production and maintenance is expensive. The engine is primarily built around utilizing similar mechanisms to that of an ion engine, focusing energy to power it rather than chemicals. Further information about this engine has been yet to be declassified. This engine is intended to be used primarily on gunboats.
