Safeguarding Samura's business interests across Kusari space and beyond has never been an easy task, but one that throughout the corporation's early years could be reliably handled by contractors and state authorities. Following the violent coup of 321 A.S., however, Samura found itself threatened by a new, more daunting enemy than the humble pirates and highwaymen who roamed Kusari's trade lanes. Striking from the nebulae and asteroid fields came the Blood Dragons, seeking bloody vengeance against those who orchestrated the death of their shogun and the slaughter of their brethren. And so, Samura was forced to create its own security wings.

No longer willing to rely upon open market ships produced by foreign - and therefore untrustworthy - manufacturers, the J-series represents Samura's first foray into the production of dedicated civilian combat craft. At the head of this new family of ships is the J7 Hagane, a well-armored yet nimble, reliable and easily maintained fighter. Able to keep up in maneuverability and firepower with the hand-crafted vessels of the Blood Dragons, the cheaply mass-producible Hagane is set to quickly replace the CTE vessels that previously made up Samura security's ranks.
