A rugged and sturdy vessel, a design born out of necessity. Crafting a functional and surprisingly well thought out vessel from old ship parts had long been a Junker tradition. In a joint venture, the Freelancer gang from Newport and a few Junker engineers developed the Plover, a cheap and quite easily maintained deep space explorer. Offering thick armor to protect against all kinds of environmental hazards, two powerful engines capable of traversing the ship across the vast emptiness between star systems, an extra fuel tank and on top of all this a quite roomy interior for a vessel of its size while still maintaining enough space for all kinds of supplies, the Plover is intended to serve those unable or unwilling to partake in long expeditions. While forgoing most of its offensive capabilities, the Plover is still capable of defending itself adequately for a vessel of its size.
