Conceived by Breton Workshops at the onset of the Gallic invasion of Bretonia, the KS-35 Serenity began its life as a test bed for large scale implementation of modular manufacturing processes previously proven by the successful DS-2 Voyager. Breton intended to design a mass-producible ship that would be inexpensive to manufacture and easy to maintain - a major consideration given the wartime shortage of high quality materials on the civilian market. The result was a rugged hull with a versatile interior layout. Despite not gaining as much traction as hoped among larger corporations, the Serenity has been widely accepted on the civilian market as an affordable alternative to comparable transports. It is most often found being helmed by freelance merchants but also - likely owing to its modularity allowing for the easy inclusion of hidden caches - smugglers.
