Originally the product of an eclectic celebrity weapons designer, the Frostbite is thoroughly an artisan and engineer's flex. The first set was hand-tailored as a one-off, four-of-a-kind package for an infamous Bounty Hunter, crafted to deliver peak performance at utmost efficiency. The gun's stabilised tachyon emitter tears through shields and hull alike with rapid fire, high speed, and at incredible range. Given the payload this weapon delivers at blistering rates of fire and with enough cohesion to be carried downrange, a complex cryogenic vent system had to be built into the mounting itself to prevent fatal overheating. It was this eccentric but necessary feature which lent the project its name.
Over time, copies have leaked onto the market, though the original gunsmith insists to have never made so much as a fifth. Some claim these reverse-engineered versions to be inferior to the legendary originals, but that doesn't stop high rollers from paying top dollar for their own sets.
