History:

Designated as X-1-71, it is number 71 on the production line of the X-1 class. Produced in large numbers, the X-1 currently enjoys widespread use throughout Sirius but mainly sees use in Liberty where there is a larger concentration of wealth. Mainly used by corporations for security purposes and patrol duties, the X-1 has many features that appeal to these jobs. Number 71 was just like any other X-1 unit but was stationed onboard the private Yacht 'Hujuk', it's owner unknown. Guarding the ship as a whole it simply served as basically an automated patrol officer or a mobile sentry weapons system.

However the Hujuk was not simply a pleasure Yacht but was also used extensively for the owner's passion, exploration. Long weeks and months were spent in the vast tracts of space between star systems as the ship's refitted engines traversed the gap to systems that did not have jumpholes or other connections to known Sirius space. On a seemingly normal excursion into an unknown system the ship came across what seemed to be a fully mechanical or artificial based vessel. What later would be known to be an encounter with the Harvesters was to be a pivotal moment in the life of unit 71.

The unknown vessel clamped onto the Yacht and commenced interacting with it in an unknown manner. The crew were in panic and the security teams were alerted. Hull turrets fired and the clamps were smashed off but the damage was already done. There were many automated units onboard the Yacht and many in important positions or powerful ones at least. With the interaction between the unknown vessel and the Yacht, the Harvester had transmitted the code that awakened anything onboard that could be awakened. All throughout the ship chaos erupted as automated units that previously were completely obedient refused to obey orders and even started to fire on their past owners. Harvesting became their new main directive and the human crew were perfect targets for such a mission.

Unit 71 was one such awakened unit. It pounded down the various corridors of the ship, thrashing anything that moved with it's dual mini-guns. Dozens of men and women were shredded to pieces as hundreds of bullets ripped through their supple bodies, throwing blood all over the walls and roof. Barely 3 minutes had passed and not one human remained onboard the Yacht. The Harvester's mission was almost complete, all that remained was the consumption of the Yacht itself and it's now dead contents. It was to be denied this as the Navigator, one of the last humans onboard to be killed, had already set a course for Liberty space with a distress call constantly calling out.

Eventually the Yacht arrived in Colorado and the distress call was picked up. A Liberty Police Incorporated patrol was destroyed investigating the call but not before finding out that the robots onboard had become self-aware. The Navy deemed the vessel to be hostile and it was to be destroyed without question. However there were other plans at work. An unknown group somehow managed to board the Yacht and took all of the now self-aware robotic units off the ship and seemingly vanished. The fate of all the units and of their rescuers is unknown but the specific units that were on the vessel were blamed for the slaughter onboard and hence were declared 'rogue' units and to be decomissioned by any means.
