Preface

It is the year 80 LC, mankind's darkest hour. The Neo Terran Front launched their sleeper ship, seeking refuge from the ashes of Sirius in the Procyon sector, they vowed never again to repeat the mistakes of the past.

A vow left broken.

Neo Terra burns. Lines have been drawn, blood has been spilled, and secrets unveiled. You are one of the 300,000,000 survivors of the Terran Decimation Event that left Neo Terra - And humanity's hope for a peaceful future in Procyon - in ruin.

------------

Summary

Taking place approximately 30 years from present events in Sirius, Neo Terra is a high quality mod set in a brand new sector, featuring 30 brand new systems, unique and artistically defined assets, and many new aspects of gameplay such as crafting, exploration, and territorial control. Neo Terra is a mod made by players for players, with an emphasis on as much freedom, creativity, and spontaneity as possible. Due to it's continuity from Discovery, you may port over your characters and their families from there, provided they would've made the journey on the Tannhauser.

------------

Background

Sirius: the place humanity turned to when there was nowhere left to go. Ravaged by a century of warfare, mankind's birthplace was left behind, but not human nature. For many years commerce boomed, the great houses venturing forth into the void in mutual benefit. Few could envision a day when the veneer of peace would fade away, but despite their second chance, human nature could not be left behind.

In the advent of seven warring nations, a gene bending superdrug, xenocidal aliens, and the houses doing nothing to curb rampant piracy and terrorism, a wayward group of unlikely individuals set forth to turn the tide of decay. From common civilians and outlaws, to Admiral Hale himself and a Slomon K'hali called Aurora which had unbound itself from the mindshare, the Neo Terran Front worked in both the shadow and the light in Sirius for many years. At long last the day came that their sleeper ship - the Tannhauser - was complete.

Amassing a compliment of roughly a quarter billion colonists, the Tannhauser set off towards the direction of the most promising star systems, the Procyon sector. Upon entering the Hebrides Cloud seperating the two sectors, contact with Sirius was forever lost, the forthcoming years to be known forevermore as L.C, Last Contact.

Arriving at their idyllic Neo Terra in the Sanctuary system in 50 L.C, landfall was made and colonies established. Dubbing themselves the Free Peoples of Procyon, the plan was to cast aside politics and houses, their journey and pasts binding them all in a state of peaceful anarchy. It was a great renaissance of both science and spirituality, culture and the arts... for a time.

Conflict and decay wracked mankind once more. Some who were disillusioned with the FPP's anarchist nature, such as the newly formed K'Hali sect of nomad outcasts and the Allied Stars of Procyon, left Neo Terra early in hopes of securing a better future away from the chaos that would surely engulf the sector before long.

A debate emerged about what it truly meant to be Neo Terran, with advances in genetic engineering and transhuman augmentation rapidly becoming the cornerstone of modern science. The Neo Terran Dominion was formed, a transhumanist supremacy who believed that only through these new scientific breakthroughs could humanity overcome their old nature. Seeing the FPP as a threat, a breeding ground for both crime and exploitation, the Dominion set their plans into action. After numerous protests on both sides, the Dominion went silent after issuing an ultimatum to the Free Peoples of Procyon - that they were to submit to the will of the Dominion, or be cleansed from the sector.

The Dominion was not seen again for half a decade.

When the blitz of the Sanctuary system occured, over half the population was killed in one of the largest mass genocides in human history. Referred to by the Dominion as the great Crescendo, and by the rest of the sector as the Terran Decimation Event, Neo Terra was irradiated, glassed, and rendered uninhabitable by a sustained Dominion assault lasting 24 hours.

From the ashes of Neo Terra rose the Terran Systems Confederacy. Largely comprised of FPP refugees and conservative hardliners, the Confederacy became a militaristic nation geared entirely towards war. Existing under a perpetual state of martial law, the Confederacy will stop at nothing until the Dominion is dust.

With their view of people as little more than a natural resource to be exploited, with reprehensible conditions throughout Confederacy Space, relations between them and the neighboring progressive and spiritual ASP quickly degenerated into a pseudo cold war over resources and civil rights, with many prominent former FPP scientists and philosophers fleeing to ASP space.

On a small independent planet called Wayside in the Haven system forming the contested boundary between TSC and ASP territory, you are preparing to launch. Godspeed, pilot.

Oh, there you guys are.
Yeah, might as well try this once I get home.
Just to explain the kind of confusing timeline.

[10:55:33 AM] Justin Hopkins: 0-50 LC = When Last Contact began, but still in Cryostasis
[10:55:46 AM] Justin Hopkins: 50-30 LC = Landed on Neo Terra, 30 years
[10:55:53 AM] Justin Hopkins: And the Tannhauser launches in 825 AS
[10:55:54 AM] Justin Hopkins: So
[10:55:58 AM] Justin Hopkins: 34 years

Thus, your Discovery characters would've aged 34 years.
It looks awesome hope to see it finished XD
Well that was a start. The stress test will be running until next Wednesday, so you've all got plenty of time to check it out.
I had spotted it a few hours ago, I am definitely going to try it out.
A Disco faction becoming a total conversion...

I'll try that.

UPDATE: Why do I keep getting kicked?
UPDATE 2: Why does the game crashes in SP when I try to undock?
I approve this, plus the rotation section of the BC (Babylon-5-porn) and Chasm. Uber awesome system <3.
