(12-03-2017, 02:56 PM)Unlocked memory Wrote: [ -> ]<<This is not the first time it happens. We lived on Planet Los Angeles, before I would go to border worlds to do... my works. She had this diesase there, during a beautiful day like her. He fainted forward at my eyes and I didn't know what she was happening... the doctors had never seen this kind of pathology and they couldn't give me neither a cure nor a therapy, saying me that... "they couldn't do anything for her">>

This is the story that the masked man told to the 5th| soldier. Despite in few words he manged to summarize a very sad history, the reality wasn't exactly so, especially on the last part. Since the story happened 1 year ago, now there's nothing to do to discover the truth. It will be a secret that the masked man will keep forever:

You can hear a huge noise of an hectic ride into the hospital corridor, soiled of shoes traces and tears, his heart was exploding, he had run more as he could do and he was very short of breath. Then he stopped, almost drifting, forward at a door of the corridor, "Room 032 EST" and he broke it. The room had a bed, 2 wardrobes, a couch and a shelf. The wardrobes was empty, the shelf was full of medical tools, on the couch there was a pilot suite and on the bed there was a girl that looked like dead. There was also 2 doctors that was looking her but that began to watch to the exhausted man that had just opened the door violently.

«HOW IS SHE?» This last shouts. The doctors answered heartbroken awared of the pain of the boy: «We're sorry, but her conditions don't improve! It's strange. Like if she would have a very normal 42°C fever but there must be something else that blocks the cures. We tried with the ice, with drugs, with injections, nothing! It doesn't happen anything!» «We have also repassed all diesase that everyone could take here in Planet Los Angeles but anything of that manage to do a similar thing. Now we think that it could have been a space illness or...» «THIS WOMAN HAS NEVER LEFT LOS ANGELES ORBIT! WE HAVE NEVER BOUGHT A SHIP TO GO OUT FROM HERE! IT'S NOT POSSIBLE!» he continued to shout.

«If it's so...» one of two answers «...then it can be an unique case, maybe a zero patient of a new diesase, not curable even by our medicines. We should order other kind of drugs not produced here. In this case she will be moved in another hospital on Manhattan, New York system...» «SO SOME LIBERTY ROUGE WILL COME TO HIJACK THE TRANSPORT AND CONSEQUENTLY DESTROY IT? NO! SHE WON'T LEAVE THE PLANET!» he was catching his breath. «Come on!» the other doctor responded «Won't you want to do the paranoid? Why should a pirate interfere on a medic transport? You can also do other examples like Xeno alliance, Outcasts, Lane Hackers... why should they assault a medic transport that doesn't carry anything of worth?» «YOU BELIEVE THAT IT WOULDN'T BE OF WORTH! BUT IN REALITY YOU COULD CARRY A GOLD MINE FOR THEM! EVERYONE WOULD WANT TO STEAL DRUGS TO BRING ON THEIR BASES! DO YOU KNOW HOW THEY DO TO HAVE WELL-EQUIPPED HOSPITALS TOO?». «Calm down sit, before it was a bit so but now they have money and resources to have their structures too, think on the Commonwealth of Liberty. It won't happen anything, don't worry!» The doctors wanted to calm him but they were irritating him more and more. «N-no... you won't take her away!» this time his voice was lower but a bit before he was started to cry. «Be calm! If you want we will ask for an extra escort for the travel. It's not so long! You simply exceed a Jump Gate.» «It's easy to say it for you, but... n-no, I d-don't want...» «It's the only way to save her the life, or at least to don't get her suffer too much! Let's go, we must prepare all for the travel. You can still stay with her until all will be ready.». The doctors exited from the room going out of the hospital, ignoring the last words of the man that now was crying: «I WILL FIND THE CURE FOR HER! YOU WON'T TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME!».

Now he was alone, he closed the door and sat near the bed where there was the girl asleep, if not dead. He continued to cry putting his head on her chest and he hugged her body with his weak arms. Suddently he girl started to take the force to speak, whispering him on the closer man's ear: «My...my...love...». The man stood up and saw the girl' eyes now semi-opened, «This thing...pain...I don't like it... please... make it stop... end my suffer». «I want to try it» the man told with the face still wet of tears «I want to make it stop, but I don't know how... but please! Try to resist again, give me still a bit of time, forgive me....» «I see your pain...» the girl responded «...I also know why... you don't want that they bring us... to New York... because if not they discover me... right?» «Yes...but» the man stopped because he had heard other words of the girl: «Listen... let that it happens... that thing... we will go... in California Minor... cold place... you can cure me there... I'm sure... staying here is useless now...». The man dried the tears hearing that "that thing" but he was still sad: «Are you sure? Are you sure that I have to do it? Y-you... you...» the girl stopped him with a more strong voide: «I will be fine, my love... it's just a small travel... I know that you couldn't hug me or touch me but... it's just for less time. You will find the cure, I believe in you!». «A...alright...» The man finished and unplugged every medical device that kept the girl alive, he took the pilot suit on the couch and a case on the shelf. He saw until the end the girl restarting to cry but she smiled to him putting her hands on those of the man and closed her eyes slowly expiring and starting to sweat...

"Mary" is a subject as very beautiful as mysterious. Actually there aren't any informations about her real origin, she appeared with "Wreckter" as he did it too but while the man can be traceable and the only thing he don't like to say is his name, "Mary" isn't registered to anywhere else other than in Planet Los Angeles, California Minor and Freeport 11. Speaking with a friend of her about his boyfriend, Mary recalled some memory about her first encounters with "Wreckter":

The room's door opened again. It's Mary, continuing to have that neutral face without any feeling and emotion carrying a book. The boy was busy to study other samples with his microscope on the corner of the room arranged like a laboratory. The timid voice of the girl was recognizable by him and a simple «Ehm… e-excuse me...» was enough to gain immediately, from him, her attention. «Oh, yes?», the boy smiled and left everything he was doing focusing on that woman. Mary started to walk to him shyly holding between her arms that book. She felt a bit feared or maybe it was just shyness. When she was close enough to him, she opened that book. «I... I didn't understand this part. I... I'm s-sorry…». «You have not to sorry, Mary! It's alright.», the man immediately interrupts her trying to calm her from that small act of disappointment.

The girl returned with that neutral face and gave that book to the boy, indicating a paragraph with her finger. The boy looked at that page with a curious face and looked like he recognized something there. «Oh, that one! Ok then…», the boy said it and put the book on his desk; then he looked directly to the girl: «In that section I talked about the "beauty" word. Do you know what is that?». Mary replied: «Yes, but its meaning can be used for different things than the aesthetic one. You said that a human can be beautiful without and within, and also that it's good being beautiful inside. Then why did you said, further on, that even being beautiful out counts?».
«Because the eye wants its part, Mary.», the boy explained starting to deepen: «Being beautiful within doesn't mean that you have to be ugly out. This is what we call it "to compromise"; a good man shouldn't be extremist in any scope but he should be able to compromise every characteristic. Being gentle and nice is good but this doesn't mean he should stop to clean himself, that's a simple example!». The girl looked like a bit surprised: «Why? Is cleaning your body an act to beautify?». «Yes.», the boy said; «Doing everything on your body is an act to be beauty. Being beauty without doesn't mean only forcely putting on makeup; even having a simple shower can beautify yourself.». She had a look like that of someone who was starting to understand: «Oh… and would I be… beautiful out? Everytime I go out, they always say me that "I'm very beautiful". So… should I be… actually awful?» in those last words, the girl seemed worried.

«NO!», the boy calmed her putting a hand on her back: «You're so beautiful out and you can also be beautiful inside! Remember that at last, the concept of "aesthetic beautiful" are just nothing else than "human judgement". Despite they tell you are the "Personification of the beauty", a similar thing doesn't exist! Nature is just nature, not beautiful, not ugly. It's simply how things are. You are what you are, and according to me, as human who judge, at first sight, you're naturally beautiful. You don't even use any makeups to be like this.»
«Oh, now I got it…», Mary was more calm saying those last words and she said a small, timid «thank you» before taking that book and going ti exit from the room too. But first she closed the door, it seemed like she forgot something: «"Wreckter"...». «Yes, Mary?», the boy replied ready to listen her. The girl waited for a bit of time like if she had going to say something but not knowing how to say that. Finally she said, serenely: «no... nothing…».

She closed the door while the boy resumed to use his scientific tools.

Mary entered in the room again, looking at the boy waiting that he noted her, trying to not disturb. The boy saw her and he istantly come at her leaving all what he was doing and immediately calm her, worrying how much time she was silently watching him. «Not so much», she said with the same sad expression. The boy with a smile asked what was the problem and even in this case it was the same: She didn't understand a part of that book she carried. «Sincerely, the book itself told to talk to you» she said, indicating an empty page of that book to the boy. Like if he was prepared for that moment he responded: «You arrived at the end of the book, Mary. The last chapter: "Love". Just love.»

«Y-yeah… but what does it mean?» She asked. The boy immediately answered: «To know this, you had to learn all the rest of the book. That's why I... "Ordered" you to do it and now you're here, after chapters about who are the humans, who are you, what's this world… now the question is how living this life. And the answer is "with love".». The girl continued to hear him without saying anything: «In a common dictionary the love is "a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection and to the simplest pleasure". Understand?»
«Yes.» She replied.
«Good! Now you learnt that every living being try to survive in this world reaching the best conditions it can. Right? This brings a satisfaction for it so...»
«So... so the living being while try to live, try to love.»
«Correct!» He replied. «Love is life. Love is everything you need to survive, to live, to make your species evolve. You live because you love the life; more you find love, more you're fine. Love is not only that classical concept of kisses and compassion. It's something over than those concrete concepts. God is love. Love is existance. You have to love to live.».
«Oh...» She looked surprised but maintained that neutral face: «And do I love?»
«That's the problem: No». The boy replied with a bit of displeasure: «You don't care about yourself. You do that… ehm… only… "because I ordered you to do it". Your entire life depends by me because of your nature. But if your nature can become like mine, then you should learn to love. Consider that the… "last order" I give to you.».

The girl, for the first time in her life experienced a deeper feeling of the sadness and she noticed that, causing a bit of confusion: «I...I-I c-can't… I-I'm s-sorry… I-I-I c-c-can't do that.»
«Yes, you can.». The boy encouraged her: «You can do it. We everyone can do it. It's in our genetic code, the goal of surviving, so also the goal of loving.»
«B-but not t-the mine». She sighed: «I'm made to be your slave. I've no freedom. I'm at your orders...»
«But you're also a human being.» He stopped her: «And you can act as such. Have you ever thought for yourself, about what you like to do? About personal preferences?»
«No. Never.» Mary replied trying to calm herself: «I never thought anything. Only doing what you ordered...»
«Impossible! Only a robotic calculator can act in this way and you are not that. Admit it, you thought for yourself even if you tried to avoid because you just want follow "my orders".». Mary was silent hearing that response. The boy continued: «What I want now that my "last order" is deleting what avoids you to think for yourself and whatever you want. I want that you will be really free like every living being, so free yourself! At any point of view.»
«I...I will t-try...»
«No! There's no try. Do it or don't do it!».

Mary took a deep breath, starting to look around and, incredibly, starting to experience emotions, feelings. It was like she could open her eyes for the first time in her life: «I can… think… I can think for myself… for yourself… everything that surrounds me... I w-wanted to know… this world… where am I? What am I? I want to be someone, I want to be someone, I want to… LIVE!». Her exhale concluded with a shout and she was about to falling to the ground if the boy didn't hold her. That smile, the first time she smiled, looking up the void.
«My name… is "Mary". I've no surname. I'm born at Los Angeles and I live here. I'm 21 years old. I want to discover everything of this world. I love this world. I love the nature. I love the life. I love… you.». Her eyes pointed to the boy.
«M-me...?»
