I would like to make a report on a possible attack within Rheinland from the Unioners. We received a message from them stating that they will attack an undisclosed target if we do not meet their demands in 7days.

The board and myself discussed the threat to respond with a plan of action. We offered terms to sit down and negotiate so there is no bloodshed, but made it clear we will not arm unlawfuls, but rather work together to set aside differences.

Since we have replied, there has been no communication back of their intentions. So we decided to inform the Bundestag to consider a plan of action and have medical and military vessels on standby as we dont know where the attack/s will be.

We would also like to send with permission of the Bundestag, a message to Rheinland citizens. Show them the threat we have received, and our response. So that they know Republican Shipping will not give in to terrorists, but rather come to an acceptable solution by offering peace.

Unfortunately, it is not really surprising to hear that Unioners are threatening to attack civilians. Actually I am surprised they even bother with giving a heads up, usually they directly go and try to rob or kill some innocent people, including common workers which they claim to fight for. Criminals and terrorists will stay criminals and terrorists no matter under what veil of a fight for a better world they try to cover it.

So, danke for the information, but it changes little for us, considering law enforcement must expect Unioner attacks anywhere in Rheinland every day. When it comes to the rest of your message, I have to remind you to be careful. First, any attempt to negotiate with this group of violent thugs can easily end with them abusing your gut will, luring you or your representatives to someplace while pretending intention to negotiate, and then kidnapping or even directly killing them. I could also point out that negotiating with them leads nowhere because they will just keep raising their demands, not to mention that you can hardly strike an agreement with someone who has no honour and refuses to be subject of the law.

Second, be careful to not break the law yourselves. Do not forget that providing any help to any member of an organization declared as an enemy of the state, what includes Unioners, or such organization as a whole, means legal consequences in form of a fine, imprisonment or death sentence according to circumstances and severity of the crime.

This includes any message you plan to publish. It is your communication, so you can publish it if you want of course, but think twice what you will actually reveal. I do not know what the communication was about, but I would rather avoid whole situation ending in need of investigation of you or employees of your corporation.

Also, think twice if Unioners deserve to get attention which this move will bring to them. In my opinion, the less spotlight and media coverage they get, the better. Especially when it could give them an opportunity to release once again their propaganda machine and lies about fighting for a gut cause which will depict you as the worst evil in Sirius and them as brave fighters for both workers and human rights. I have seen this scenario more than enough in the past.

I approach you as the protectors of Rheinland, its people and its corporations. We need your help in the most urgent manner one can ask. Just yesterday, one of my captains was going to Bretonia to offload some cargo. He encounted a Junker pirate and was forced to pay a "donation" to protect him till Cambridge. Before they reached Cambridge Jump Gate, a second Junker pirate appeared and demanded a large sum of money in order to pass. The captain tried to explain the situation, and even the first pirate was trying to inform the second pirate that a deal was done. The second pirate was not interested in what they both had to say and gave a deadline to pay up. The captain was seeing what his options were, and before he could respond, he was attacked and lost his life in the process.

This situation we have is not good for Rheinland. These vermin are soon going to put a halt to our growing economy until someone does something about it. Republican Shipping pleas with Rheinland Military to be proactive where it can be and to see that there is safe trade between Rheinland and Bretonia. As for Republican Shipping, we would like to know if we can call upon available vessels to escourt us through when needed. Seeing that Republican Shipping, is Rheinland, we are property of Rheinland. an attack on Republican Shipping, Daumann Heavy Construction and Kruger Minerals, is an attack on Rheinland its self.

We are sorry to hear about these problems. Unfortunately, Since the trade route between Rheinland and Bretonia was established through Omega region, it became infamously known for being infested with pirates and other criminals, or even worse entities, despite all the effort of both Rheinland and Bretonian law enforcement. It is caused by the nature of the region, which provides a lot of uncontrolled space covered by asteroid fields and nebulas to hide. Naturally, the situation gets even worse when both houses are currently at war and thus a lot of lawful forces, especially military units, must be deployed elsewhere.

However, as far as the government is informed, the law enforcement is aware of the problems and is trying to help you. There were several raids focused on neutralization of the pirates, but as I said, it is not easy to catch and eliminate them completely, even temporarily. Apart from that, we can only advise you to apply security measures such as the use of escort or even better a scout, so transports will never get into direct contact with the threat. Speaking of which, feel free to ask law enforcement for protection if you meet their members in space, I am sure that if they will not be busy with some other task, they will provide it. Though I must inform you that by current diplomatic arrangement, only Rheinland Military is allowed to enter Omega-3 and there are some restrictions they must adhere. Apart from that, you can also bounty those who attacked your ships, so bounty hunting organizations and individuals will be motivated to patrol Omegas and actively reduce the number of pirates.

If you think there is some specific way the government could help you, feel free to bring it to the discussion.

Sorry for the delay on answer, but as im sure you are aware, Rheinland Militär is focused on multiple operations both at home front and in Sigmas area of operations. So your message been classified as less urgent.

Well, we have received reports from Republican Shipping pilots, from Kruger Minerallien and Daumann Heavy Construction pilots about multiple pirate ships in Omegas. As we receive everyday, since trade in that area exists.

As im sure your pilots are aware, Rheinland Militär detached a Cruiser (Elsaas) and some fighter wings from Battleship Altenburg KampfGruppe to not only protect trade in our territory but to escort traders to the limit permitted to us by Omega treaty.

While any piracy indeed hinder trade, i would like to ask to you to consider the following: This isnt new, or worst than it usually been, in fact, at the moment, Omegas are calmer than usual, Hessians are suspiciously quiet. Not long ago, they destroyed a Kruger Minerallien ore depot in Omega-7 system.

I invite you, herr Mayer to consider that if you think crossing omegas under escort is difficult, how hard can be for Kruger Minerallien and Daumann Heavy Construction to dwell needing to mine in those systems? And they do, apparently, pretty well.

Apart the afore mentioned forces detached to escort duty in Omegas, i can only suggest to Republican Shipping to follow same security measures Kruger Minerallien and Daumann Heavy Construction use:
-Strong Escort Fleet.
-Hiring Bounty Hunters for more problematic individuals.
-Heavily armed and armored convoys.

Both those corporations go trough any blockade, let alone regular pirates, dont be afraid, weak disorganized pirates cant "put a halt to our economy".

However, you recognized your pilot broke our law, contributting with the pirates. i would advise to not repeat such action, as much as we know it may seem a easier way out of a bad situation in a said moment, you just financing better ships for your agressors.

If you can provide to Rheinland Militär proof of such pirating acts, and shipnames and affiliaton of your agressor, as well as guncam footage of such attacks, we can take some more steps and have our pilots activelly searching for those individual ships, not just some "unknown junker".

Keep in mind that we have junkers working in Rheinland for long time, and most of them are honest, hard working men. We wont start a witch hunt, blaming every junker for few transgressor actions.
