RANK ADJUSTMENTS

This is Colonel Maximilian Saint-Just. With the Enclave getting firmly on its feet once again, the command saw fit to issue another wave of promotions:
  • Claire Ambrecoeur has been promoted to Capitaine Principal for her contribution with the retrieval of a valuable asset, and the operations of forces under her command in the field. She now has the clearance to command Obstinate-class battlecruisers.

  • Hector Sharpe has received the rank of Capitaine in the Enclave Defense Authority. Formerly a Major by the old Royal Navy ranking system, he now has the clearance to command Triumph-class destroyers.

  • Elise De Grasse has been promoted to Lieutenant Principal for her dedication and assistance in defense of Aquitaine from Bretonian incursions. She now has the clearance to command Prerilous-class corvettes.

  • Nicole Perrot has been inducted as Capitaine in the Enclave Defense Authority, along with a Triumph-class destroyer and the crew under her command.

We are seeing a spike in people joining our ranks and willing to fight for the resurgence of true Gallia. Let it be known that those who do their part will be rewarded. Anyone who hasn't received a promotion today, you can be certain that we're watching your progress with great interest. The Enclave rewards merit, and there are plenty of avenues for you. To name a few:
  • Our intelligence unit, Escadron XXII "Les Revelateurs", needs a new leader. With Adelaide Gauthier handling Enclave matters on a wider scale, and Emeline Coste assuming the role of Director of Research for the Enclave, I need an officer willing to step up and take a more active stance in organizing intelligence operations, both in space and planetside.

  • I presume that Director Coste herself could use a capable hand to for research and development projects. Should any of you have an interest in that field, your assistance will be appreciated.

  • Supplies and logistics are also an important topic. Lieutenant Principal Christophe Labranche is already commanding one of our logistics squadrons. But we need someone who could take charge of EDA logistics and civilian relations as a whole. Either Monsieur Labrance, or someone else.

If you're interested in taking any of these avanues, or think of other ways you can contribute to the Enclave, don't hesitate to let me know in private. Once you demonstrate your capabilities and dedication, you'll be rewarded with ranks and recognition. Thanks to the recent developments, you might also have a shot at gaining nobility.

Saint-Just out.

16 March 742. I was joined by Nicolas PlantagenĂȘt during a patrol of the Tau's today. I intercepted a Freelancer transport hauling Military vehicles within Tau-29, he managed to evade me into Tau-31 but I prevented him using the lanes. I tried to make contact but I receieved no response - as far as I could tell he was flying toward Planet Harris. I made quick work of his ship, unfortunately no transport support was available so I was unable to retrieve the vehicles for our own use.

Our second encounter was with a Freelancer registered Grizzly - After a bit of back-and-forthing he refused to pay the tax for flying through Enclave space and tried to make a quick exit, myself and Nicolas destroyed his ship and left his pod in space, i'm sure someone will find him eventually.

Bonjour! Today, while chasing around some pesky Gaians off of Plant Bordeaux I stumbled upon a foreign signature. The ship hastily cruised by me without any signaling, so I decided to catch up to it and make contact. It was a an Eagle, piloted by man named Alfred Steiner. The name meant nothing to me, but it sounded foreign, probably of a Rheinlandish descent. Scanning the target showed the ship was well equipped for combat, but the person operating the craft appeared as someone who abhors conflict. He introduced himself as a "professor in anthropology" and his credentials as a researcher supported that claim. The man seemed a bit confused as to his current location and said he got lost on his way to the Taus.

His words and actions demonstrated to me that he was not a threat to the Enclave and I decided to escort him to Tau-31. On our way there I inquired more about his profession and came to realize his work-related connections as a man of science could be of use in the future. This is one of the reasons why I decided to share this information only with High Command. The other was, although it seemed a trivial encounter, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something off with his persona. And also that name...Steiner. I know I have heard it somewhere before, but perhaps someone from HQ might have more information on this guy.

Bonjour!
As today there was no particular action going on in the Hebrides I took on a more adventurous task of scouting new possible trade routes, now that the borders with our neighbors have been officially opened.

Firstly, I traversed the Taus and after no profitable options were discovered I moved to Kusari core space. I was received there with exclamations such as "nani?!" and "baka gaijin!", which I suppose is how they greet their foreigners. But beneath the surface of their courteous remarks, a strong vibe of distrust was felt. Most understandable, considering we were enemies not long ago. But soon enough I find those who were willing to speak the universal language of money- The Gas Miners Guild. I was allowed access on one of their station in Honshu- Aomori and there I discussed with the some of the local vendors what we can do for each other. As it turns out they are in need of gold and tantalum, which we have an abundance of at Ortez station. On the other hand they can supply us with H-fuel at low costs. I made a trial run and the profits turned out to be more than expected. The route itself is medium in length and generally pirate activity is low.

Applying relevant data: 1 2 3

Secondly, I was contacted by one of the Montluc Engineering officers working on their new installation in Brittany. He offered me a private contract to supply their observatory and I accepted. Coincidentally, nearly 30% of the materials he required were along my newly discovered trade route and so back to Kusari I went for various metals and hardware.

Needless to say it was a very profitable day with a very interesting diplomatic turn of events. Although enemies in the past, the Kusari corporations could prove invaluable in boasting our income and general resources.
With the permission of high command, I request to continue my exploration with the the systems of Rheinland and find if there is any way their peoples can be of use to us, namely to our facility in Zurich.
Jean-Baptiste out.

Bonsoir!

In continuation of our efforts to re-establish a strong presence in Gallia core systems, I went on a solo patrol mission in Languedoc. There I stumbled upon a GMS transport vessel. It was carrying food and general goods, no doubt for one of their many installations in the system. The operator of the ship was very compliant with my orders and was more than willing to financially support our cause:

That is all for today.

Bonjour!

Yesterday during a run for much needed supplies from Kusari I was stopped by the KNF for inspection. As you are aware from my recent investigation, at this moment all Kusarian corporations have either neutral or friendly disposition to possible relations with us. The Naval Forces on the other hand are still extremely cautious and their laws apparently prohibit us for now to act on said possibilities. With regard to this fact I was asked to leave and was escorted out of Kusari space. The KNF official, however, mentioned that a contact could be made over secure comms in order to negotiate.

Attaching transcript of our communication:

Bonjour,

After all the events, my team of scientists is already ready to return to their places of work in the Orleanais system. To do this, I need a group of transport ships and a small wing for escort. In a few days, we will restore the activity of our laboratory and begin to solve problems in our main worlds. Please select the above ships for the transportation of necessary goods. The general route and all the logs I will provide you after the operation is completed.

Bonjour,

I apologize for the delay in my message, I had to check the systems of my ship, after repair. Yesterday, Bretonia forces invaded our systems. Our defense systems responded perfectly and our best ships were sent to battle with them, including my ship. We managed to destroy all the enemy ships without loss from our side. Not having time to park our ships after the battle, the next wave came to us, with which we also had to fight. We also destroyed them. This time with the loss of one ship. We saved the pilot and delivered for treatment. That's all.

06 April 742. I did a patrol of the local sector, starting off in the Leeds system. I encountered a completely silent Rheinland Cruiser exiting from the Tau-31 gate, I tried multiple times to contact the crew to no avail, not having the firepower to do any damage to it I opted to return to the gate. I then intercepted a BMM Mining vessel filled to the brim with gold - I relieved him of ten million credits before allowing him to pass.

I proceeded to the Languedoc system and sat on the gate to Dauphine. It wasn't long before I intercepted a GMS vessel, after I scanned his cargo and a little chat, I levied a small tax on him before allowing him to pass. Almost immediately after a Samura train full of Iridium ore arrived and surprisingly for a Samura vessel, didn't immediately try and run away. He said the Ore came from the Omicrons and he was transporting it to the Confederate government forces, I took a further ten million credits from him as I didn't have any transport backup to retrieve any cargo.

My final encounter was in the same system, an Outcast by the name of Kyle Cross was trespassing. I spoke with him and gave him the option of leaving or being fired upon, as you'd expect from someone of his calibre he opted for the latter. I managed to reduce him to space dust but the Maltese really do live up to their reputation. My ship was heavily damaged and I barely made it back to Brittany.
