In every organisation, there is a good side, a bad side, and the side that protects, no matter what.

The Blue Water Navy. Designed for the longest journeys, the toughest missions, the most secluded operations. Each ship tuned to the best performance, each man hand picked for their skills, only the best allowed in. Invitation only. Each ship was assigned to a base ship, which carried supplies, medical facilities and fuel for them. The Blue Water Navy Wing, or BWN, were specifically designed to be able to go for weeks without returning to base. They could be sent on missions that took them deep behind enemy lines, gathering intelligence and striking at civilian, commercial and military targets to weaken the enemy from within.

The flotilla is a new idea for the war against Rhienland, and the main difference with the BWN, is that they don't answer to the Navy High command. They are seperate, powerful and silent, moving quickly and efficiently, answering only to the President him, or her, self. They started their life in the Texas system, when the Liberty Navy Dreadnought San Francisco was assigned to this new flotilla. They base themselves from the Texas system, with operating area's extending down into Rhienland, their arm never too short, never too weak, they are Liberty's latest hope in a good ending to the war.

In the BWN, the structure is as below:

Flotilla base ship

=|-Base ship escorts
=|====|
=|====|-2 Fighters
=|====|-2 Bombers
=|
=|-Wing 1 Leader ship
=|====|

=|====|-4 Fighters
=|====|-2 Support ships (Capital vessels)
=|
=|-Wing 3 Leader ship
=====|

=====|-4 Support ships (Capital vessels)

The current Rank structure is as follows:

Rank 1: Ensign
Rank 2: Sub-Lieutenant
Rank 3: Lieutenant
Rank 4: Commander
Rank 5: Captain
Rank 6: Commodore
Rank 7: Rear Admiral
Rank 8: Admiral

The ranks in the BWN only exist within the BWN, and as such the Admiral of the BWN has no power over the Admiral of the Navy, nor any power over any pilot outside the BWN, unless given to them by the Admiral of the Navy.

Commanders of Leader Ships must be Captain or higher. The ranks and privelages assigned are below:

Ensign:
The beginners, these pilots fly fighters to help the fleet progress.

Sub-Lieutenant:
These pilots are the main core of the BWN, each one an expert pilot, suitably tasked for missions. Can fly a fighter and a bomber, will be tasked to either Wing 1, 2 or 3.

Lieutenant:
These pilots have shown some aptitude for command and tactics, and as such have been promoted to better use their skills. These pilots will have either a personal fighter or bomber, or both, and will serve onboard a support ship, maximum of a gunboat class vessel, as an XO or support officer.

Commander:
These pilots are gifted, and as such will be shown more respect with the rank of commander. These pilots have learnt enough tactics and command skills that a Gunboat can be put under their personal command. Commanders are expected to have a fighter or bomber so as to not waste resources on small enemy craft.

Captain:
These officers now directly command over squadrons. They can, and will, command a capital support vessel, up to a cruiser class, and will have two fighters directly assigned to their command. The Captain will be expected to have a fighter AND bomber vessel in order to show an example to the lower commands. Captains are also placed in charge of recruitment. In extrordinary circumstances they may be placed in command of a wing.

Commodore:
The Commodore is a true tactician. They can command a Wing. The Commodore will command a Cruiser or battlecruiser usually, unless they request a gunboat, and will name their ship the Leader ship of a wing. The pilots in their wing will be directly under their command. Commodores are expected to have a fighter and bomber class vessel to deal with other enemy vessels without a waste of resources.

Rear Admiral:
The Rear Admiral will command a wing, usually Wing 1, and their Leader Ship will be either a Dreadnought or a Battlecruiser, unless they request a smaller ship. The fighters, bombers and other capital ships under their command are to follow their command at all times. Rear Admirals are expected to have a Fighter and Bomber along with their command ships.

Admiral:
The Admiral of the BWN is the commander of the Base Ship. The Base Ship is the command centre of the BWN, and has 4 personal escorts, which protect it at all costs. The Base Ship rarely enter's combat, instead guarding the Flotilla's food, medical and other supplies. The Admiral is expected to have command of smaller craft aswell, specifically a fighter and a bomber.

Name structure:

Base Ship:

[BWN]BS-*Name* E.G: [BWN]BS-San.Francisco

The BWN is currently looking for people to move from other areas of the Navy to the BWN, however, we expect a knowledge of the following:

-Medium to good pilot skills, and a willingness to improve using training.
-A good knowledge of language, and proper use of said knowledge.
-A knowledge of resources, and knowledge of when to use large ships and when to use fighters.

To apply, please PM Seth Karlo on the forums.

//Feedback, ideas, thoughts, the whole shebang wanted please! Thanks!
Seems like a fairly confusing naming system. They're generally better to be simple, and effective.
The point is to make it easy to see at a glance what ships are, and who is in command of who, if you're a W1E, then you follow the orders of a W1LS etc.
Sounds like a militarized LSF...
<strike>Sounds similar to Black Water in the States in a way.</strike>
Scratch that, read it over again. does sound like what Yue said. Militarized LSF

Personally I would say that Rheinland needs this more then Liberty, but apart from that it looks like an ok idea, although Virus probably won't be to happy.

(Personally i'm not happy with Liberty Navy ships coming past Planet Hamburg as agreed)

The idea is a bit like that yes, but we focus on the war, not much else.

Planet Hamburg? Sounds good to me, we won't move past it.

But then I don't see what the difference is between you and the normal Navy.

I still think Rheinland needs this more, but I know you won't change it because you have the San Francisco.
They sounds like the Privateers, just with more ranking structure and military targets.

Rheinland is already pretty screwed... Both in-RP and just due to the number of players on Liberty's side.
I like the idea. But I have to agree with Drake and Shepperd. Rheinland would need this more then Liberty IMHO.
