Although I can pirate as per my Gaian ID, I never have & never will because it's against my RP.

I'll sell off what I make from kills & also do missions to keep afloat.
' Wrote:Go look at Phate and the Lane Hackers.

They actually make a pretty buck from their piracy adventures, and not just from traders...

I think in fifteen minutes we once filled our pirate transport in Cali with opticals and made 25M off off shipping them three times to Magellan, plus an extra 5M from passerby.

Thats 30M in 1/4th of an hour, though we did have four people.
Right.

They make a good buck because they sit in magellan with a taskforce of like...6, in front of the cali gate, or near it, pew pew every npc that comes by to stockpile bots/bats, then drop cargo from their pirate transport, so they can extort more from you....for example, who the eff takes 1800 of 2500 cargo....thats straight gank.

The way that phate pirates, makes me want to amass a taskforce, and sit outside mactan. I mean in essence its the same thing.
You know Phate used to be on a thread of Most wanted crims?

Phate also use to pirate solo, because he had the advantage of being like 2 miles from the server majkp hosted, now since he cant uber pwnz in his ship, because he lags like everyone else to a certain degree, he relys on a taskforce, He also Over-taxes, and his rp usually moves towards outrageous demands leaning towards pvp whorism, which is why he has lost my respect. I have said it before and I will say it again.

The Lane Hackers are like the 40 yr old, virgin nerds of Discovery, more interested in being 1337 leet, and hacking then, raping and pillaging.

Either way you hash it, Phate's pirating techniques are more lolpirate/gank, then anything.
If you can't avoid the Hackers in Magellan then you are doing it wrong. Simple as that. Sorry, and all that, but just be intelligent about it and use a different damn route!

The Hackers, and pirates in general, are a vitally important part of discovery. There are those that are fair, there are those that are unfair. Hell, they're pirates! I can't imagine anything more boring than running into a pirate and knowing that I'm going to be treated fairly. It has to be dangerous. That's the point. You should not know whether you're going to get out of the situation with your money, your cargo or your life intact.

If you know someone is going to be unreasonable, just avoid them. It really is extremely easy to do.
when im out to get someone, i pirate about 20mil every 40 minutes or so. when im really in the mood, my cargo hold is full all the time. only downtime i have is traveling to sell pirated cargo.

biggest piracy was 80mil in 10 minutes. nuclear devices. i funded forming of a faction, two personal traders and i've got 1.2bil around.
tho.. dont think it aint hard work.
I casually cargopirate, mainly in omega 7 and dublin, because i have friends to which i can sell the ore, it makes a rather large ammount of money, though not as much as mining. Also, the main rule of piracy, that most people disobey is dont be an asshat.

For all that people say about pirates being tards, i actually go out of my way to make sure that the people i pirate enjoy it as well as me, to the point that one pair of miners RPed so well that i actually bought their cargo off them.

If all pirates obeyed rule 0.0, then i dont see why you couldnt make plenty from pirating.

So, in contradiction to what most people believe, you will make more profit as a pirate from being nice, and having a chat with the other person, than demanding money and shooting them in 30 seconds flat.
Remember your Mentira, Ivan.

Now piracy is my primary source of income, along with ammo picked from fights and somtimes escorting.

Now agian, I do not have much ideas neither I need to create much characters, neither I want to buy a capital ship. I equipedmost of my ships in non ammo using equipment. As well changed to ripper mines to be able to loot nuclears and sell them.

And piracy... oh never unreasonable demands. Only sometimes "tell me a joke" thing, and just to hold of the trader for a while. Lets say .. 20 - 30 minutes. More fun to talk around and make yourself scary. Later ask for cargo or credits (depending on the situation)

Now you mentioned ganking.. Move in Convoys, get escorts. (heh but like sails operate, they won't help at all to move trought whole net of pirates blocking all the exit enterences, and even if you passed trough one guy, you be cought by second)

My money is risiing slowely due to expenditure, but I keep the +++/-- balance I think.

It's all in all much more fun that flying from point A to point B.

Oh and as Montezuma mentioned. My character is never freindly to trader. Oh hardly ever. Unless he is drunk. He is always shouting, calling names, angry... sometimes mad. Sometims making unreasonable demands (which do not involve any credits or cargo, like "tell me a joke" part) But if you rp well you can always win. Like Austin.Elzner who plays a zoner trader. He managed to compact with Vilkas. Just by roleplaying as zoner should do.

Oh and golden key of piracy is... if the trader concider to run and you start shooting always give last chance to pay up then his hull drops almost to zero and he is botless.
I had just one pirate so far in use. I used it to pirate outcasts primarily, for they pay alot for their cardi / slave loads. The pirating paid for my gunboat, equipment, armor, and over 100mil surplus. But heck as mentioned, later on, no one travelled there when I was online. SO sad but so true.
No. Pirating is for fun. Not to farm Traders to get "lol10millordainoob". It kill the fun. Let the traders and miners breath.
