A think giving a battleship to Lane Hackers was a joke anyway.

The only thing that bothers me is that they took Vespucci. I wish a new system had been made for the HF. Lane Hackers don't even have a guard system anymore.

I think the old Spyglass model should be used to create a new base for the Lane Hackers.

I think it's shallow to say that the Lane Hackers couldn't maintain a battleship of their own. When you talk about the Lane Hackers I imagine they'd probably use alot of artificial intelligence/robots to build and maintain their ships. The Rogues have Freighters, Transports, Gunboats, and even a Cruiser - the Outcasts have an entire capital fleet even though they're drug addicts. The Corsairs maintain a huge piracy armada complete with two separate battleship lines, cruisers, gunboats, etc..

The Lane Hackers (in roleplay) are more capable of building a capital fleet than most of the unlawful factions on the server combined. If Lane Hackers can't develop or maintain their own capital fleet then neither should the Outcasts, the Rogues, or the Corsairs. It's especially ridiculous to say that the HF (a group fostered by Hackers) could maintain a Battleship whereas the Hackers couldn't...

Hackers are supposed to be intelligent and creative; I'd think they'd be more inclined towards the development of military assets than most of the other unlawful factions. The Lane Hackers basically invented intergalactic corporate espionage, there's no reason why they wouldn't be able to field their own capital fleet..

Nope. The Lane Hackers are a small group of specialised ex-Ageira employees with only a few bases in whole sirius and they would rather build/aquire fighters or bombers then a Gunboat or bigger.

In contrast, Outcasts have a Planet, are far more in numbers and ressources and exist a lot longer, same for corsairs.

The rouges have the Mollys as allies and are therefore more capable of producing and maintaining bigger ships, though inRPly, they dont have a lot of them either.

EDIT: + what dodike said.

Because snubs are much cheaper, covert and do the job just fine. That leaves plenty of credits for sex and drugs parties.

What would Hackers need a guard system for?

I wish guard systems didn't exist. Guard stations are okay, but whole systems - nope. I'm glad the LH didn't insist on claiming yet another system for themselves. This mod has way too many featureless guard systems as it is.

I'm also not bothered by the fact that the Spyglass is a Hellfire ship now. What grinds my gears is that the HF has been incorporated in the Discovery lore, yet its ID is not public.

We had plans to make it at least partially public a while back, but I'm not sure what happened with that.

It's funny considering the Spyglass was never even supposed to be a Lane Hacker ship to begin with.

' Wrote:Some might also remember the Storta called Moonraker. I can't say we deploy it regularly, but it also flies. I'm yet to check it's current core efficiency, but it's a tertiary concern tops.
I'm afraid the new ID doesn't allow Cruisers as well. But oh well, it's not like we had any real purpose for it anyways.
I belive that this change was made becouse too much people fly in Spyglasses last days, end their make CapSpam in NY.

than move IMHO bring back balance.

Although LH~ ID doesn't allow the Moonraker to be flown; since it's essentially still a SRP ship, Special Operative ID can probalby claimed right away.

And the ID change didn't just purely base on the Lolglass problem (since they are HF only now anyways), it makes sense inRPly, too. Lane Hackers dont fly caps. Never. Ever. ( not counting Spyglass and Storta).

Too bad I can't dig up the quote from where I offered to model a new BS for them to Xoria but was told no because they didn't actually want one.

Get out with your assumptions, please.

This had nothing to do with the change.

I've been over this before Teschy. HF indies would be great, but the ID would have to be capped at gunboat. The HF just don't have the resources to manufacture Arbiter spam.

Anyway, that may have been doable in .85, but it sure won't happen now if Guard IDs getting nuked is anything to go by.
