Colonel Lewis reporting in,
Today marks another triumphant day for the Republic. As many have no doubt seen, construction of a "Thanatos" class cruiser has been underway for quite sometime at Sabah Shipyards. The latest in Colonial production, this new vessel has been outfitted with enhanced equipment and superior defensive and offensive capabilities, and will serve in the forward fleet under my command.
Upon disembarking Sabah proper, one of many shuttle craft with myself and other flight officers aboard took a rather scenic route before docking about the new vessel. I have uploaded the images the shuttle craft recorded.
After docking, the officers and myself toured many of the decks aboard, watching as more and more crewmen from the shuttles reported to their various positions. After we made our rounds, we made our way towards the bridge, where the christening ceremony was about to begin.
As the men and woman aboard the deck were given a glass of Old Crayterian ale, my lovely wife, Kallin, gave the christening speech, of which I have uploaded in this transmission here:
Following the end of the ceremony, and the families of the crew disembarked, myself and the officers returned to our stations, eager to begin our maiden voyage. Moments from now, the order will be given and we will begin our tour of the system, ensuring all systems are operational and ready for service within the forward fleet.

Kallin Wrote:"For hundreds of years, we have gone to space. We have crafted vessels to carry us and we have called them by name. These ships will nurture and care for us through perilous times, and so we affectionately call them "she." To them we toast, and ask to celebrate the Cychreides. FOR THOSE WE LEFT BEHIND.
The moods of the void are many, from tranquil to violent. We ask that this ship be given the strength to carry on. The keel is strong and she keeps out the pressures of the void.
Today we come to name this lady Cychreides, and send her to the void to be cared for, and to care for the brave souls aboard. We ask the men and women of old and the mood of God that is the void to accept the Cychreides as her name, to help her through her passages, and allow her to return with her crew safely.
TO THE CREW BEFORE US...TO THE CYCHREIDES... AND FOR THOSE WE LEFT BEHIND"
Following the end of the ceremony, and the families of the crew disembarked, myself and the officers returned to our stations, eager to begin our maiden voyage. Moments from now, the order will be given and we will begin our tour of the system, ensuring all systems are operational and ready for service within the forward fleet.
For those we left behind,
Colonel Steven Lewis
