Areas of Interest
Nebulae
Walker Nebula
An outcropping of the Walker Nebula that remained after the formation of this star system.
Alegranza Cloud
A sizable outcropping of the Barrier Nebula.
Asteroid Fields
Melilla Debris Field
This asteroid field has broken off from the Walker Nebula and currently sits within the gap in space before the Barrier begins. Not being obscured by either nebula, the asteroid field has been found to contain high quantities of Cobalt and other mineral resources.
El Aaiun Field
A huge field of mineral rich asteroids located deep within the Omega-48 system, El Aiun holds a bloody history within its chaotic depths as the field has been used by both Corsairs and Red Hessians as staging points in their ceaseless battle over Casablanca Base. It was from within El Aiun that both the initial capture by Red Hessian forces, and the Corsairs' subsequent retaking of the base, were launched.
Recently a highly detailed survey of the field by the Independent Miners Guild uncovered significant beryllium deposits spread across the field in addition to silver deposits located buried deep within a number of asteroids. This discovery has prompted the IMG to begin expanding their operations beyond the control of the colonies and deeper into the untamed depths of wild space, but they are not without competition as the mineral hungry Houses of Bretonia and Rheinland seek new resources.
Wrecks
Hassani - F/G-8
The wreck of the Hassani belonged to a Red Hessian ace, Jakob Bautzen, whose ship was disabled during the original raid to capture Casablanca from the Corsairs. The pilot was presumably either captured or killed, but the equipment appears to be intact.
Contains:
- 1x Natterturm Zwei
- 10x Side Arms
- 8x Shield Battery
- 6x Nanobots
August - F/G-5
The wreck of the Red Hessian fighter August. Might contain valuable equipment.
Contains:
- 2x Stealthblade Mk II
- 6x Shield Battery
- 6x Nanobots
Radiant - F-4
Radiant was a cargo ship of the Zoners that was attacked by Wild raiders. It was one of the few instances where the Wild ventured as far as Omega-48, and the ship was completely unprepared for this new threat. Most of its systems were damaged, and the ship was lost somewhere in the Barrier Nebula.
Contains:
- 2x Fury 3
- 2x Fury 3 Turret
- 1x Sentinel CM Dropper
- 15x Sentinel CM Flare
- 14x Shield Battery
- 8x Nanobots
Arnomendi - C/B-6/5
Arnomendi once belonged to an ill-famed Corsair, Olivia Velasquez, known for her exceptional hatred for all Bounty Hunters, and Zoners who gave them shelter on their Edge World bases. While most other Corsairs repected the Zoners' neutrality, Olivia and several other Corsairs who shared her ideas had covertly hijacked several Zoner convoys in 815-816 AS. Finally, she angered the Zoners so much that they bribed the Corsairs to leak the info on Olivia's next target. Outnumbered by Zoner ships who surrounded her, Olivia refused to surrender and was captured by force. No one has heard from her since.
Contains:
- 2x Salamanca Mk II
- 1x Salamanca
- 1x Tizona del Cid Turret
- 8x Synth Paste
- 11x Shield Battery
- 5x Nanobots
