    Areas of Interest

    Nebulae

    Newport Anomaly

The Newport Anomaly is a large dark matter cloud found in the Virginia system. Newport's exact origin and composition are unknown, the cloud itself rendering any attempts at gathering scan data close to impossible.

Initial theories suggested that it was an outcropping of the Grande Negra in the Texas system, although the limited analysis conducted about the cloud's composition in recent years has proven that theory false.

Its origin remains a mystery, however that did not stop the Liberty Navy from constructing Radford Research Station inside Newport, its scanner-suppressing nature along with the scattered pockets of radiation making for the ideal environment to hide a secret installation within.

    Asteroid Fields

    Concord Asteroid Belt

The Concord Belt is a large but sparsely packed field of asteroids, much like those found in Hudson and Bering. It contains no resources of value but plays host to a contingent of Xenos. While traversing such fields is usually deemed a flight risk, this has not stopped local forces from subjecting fresh recruits to pursuit drills among the rocks. These exercises however became increasingly unpopular, as members of such flight wings have on occasion gone missing, while those who return claim to have been chased out of the field by patchwork monstrosities that refused all hails. With mounting superstition, patrols typically draw the line at the field's edge, any tales regarding 'ghost' ships are dismissed as fabrications.

    Arlington Minefield

A colossal and absolutely deadly Antimatter minefield constructed by the Liberty Navy which serves as the first layer of Planet Columbia's defenses.

Attempts to penetrate the field are not advised due to its density, lethality and size.

    Approach with caution.

    Wrecks

    Storage Depot - C/B-1/2

A storage depot typically houses a wide range of commodities in preparation for transport.

    Contains:

    Cottoneye - D-6

Once the famed ship of local Rogue boss Deadeye Dexter, the Cottoneye had helped lead Dex to local infamy among the few Rogue bosses that had begun to raid Virginia. It's unknown exactly what led to his demise; all that remains is the beaten-up Cottoneye, adrift in low orbit of Reston, with only the etched Liberty Stars beneath the cockpit to tell Dex's story.

    Contains:

    Scrap Queen - E-7/6

The Scrap Queen was one of several Junker transports that routinely smuggled through the Concord Belt once Virginia was made common knowledge. After several close calls and narrow escapes, the Queen finally met her end to Xeno raiders while carrying a load of Cardamine destined for Manhattan.

    Contains:

    Hare - C/D-4

Hare was once the Starflier of budding Xeno recruit Nate Carson. After one too many pints and a fifty-credit bet from his fellow Xenos, he evidently attempted to cross the Potomac at full burn. The charred husk of the fighter itself is all that remains.

    Contains:

    Jump Gates/Holes

    Target System Type Location
    Texas Jump Gate B/C-6
    Omicron Nu Jump Gate E-3/4
    Alaska Jump Hole C-1
    Texas Jump Hole C/D-7/8
    Omicron Nu Jump Hole C/D-2/3
