During the Hudson War, the Liberty Navy drove Rheinland from the Independent Worlds, occupying the systems between 819 - 822 AS. During this period, unlawful activity across both systems was heavily suppressed, owing to aggressive patrols and the collapse of trade between the two Houses. Following the war’s end, the Independent Worlds military presence drastically shrank as Liberty redeployed the vast majority of its garrison to the Gallic front in Bretonia. The reconstruction of Hudson’s Hamburg Jump Gate later saw trade resume, and with it the piracy that has long characterized the region.
The Treaty of Atka divided Hudson into two spheres of influence, with both Houses agreeing to exclusively patrol their own sides. A neutral buffer was established at the Atka Trade Lane junction to reduce friction between the Houses. By mutual agreement, the Bounty Hunters Guild were invited to establish a station in the demilitarized zone, providing a safe harbor for passing transports, and a flexible force that could pursue criminals fleeing from one security zone into the other. Bounties across Hudson are funded by local corporations, with Planetform in particular bankrolling lucrative contracts on Xeno fighters who regularly attack the Atka project.

A spokesperson claimed that the destruction of the Dublin Jump Gate by Molly separatists had created a hyperspace feedback loop that was propagated and amplified through the Ageira gate network. Ageira disputed this finding in their own press release, calling EFL 'fantasists' and countering that their own scientists had narrowed the cause to a rare 'hypernova' stellar event that originated outside the Sirius sector. Both corporations claim that network-wide hardware safeguards have been implemented that would prevent a similar occurrence in the future.
