    Areas of Interest

    Nebulae

    Akioud Cloud

An outcropping of the Walker Nebula that remained after the formation of Omega-47. The nebula was first discovered by the famous Corsair explorer Carlos Fuentes after arriving from Omega-5. The swirling molten depths are frequently prowled by Corsairs, Wild and enigmatic, alien machines. No commercial surveys for resources have been conducted.

    Asteroid Fields

    Melilla Debris Field

A rocky asteroid field that is believed to have drifted free of the Akioud Cloud and gradually cooled. No detailed mineral surveys have been conducted, owing to the eternal bloodbath between the Corsairs, Coalition and Red Hessians that has raged since 810 AS.

    El Aaiun Field

A huge field of rocky asteroids located deep within the Omega-47 system. El Aaiun has a bloody history, as the Corsairs and Coalition frequently use it as a staging point in their ceaseless struggle for Tangier and Casablanca Base. Independent Miners Guild surveys have uncovered rich deposits of Iron, Titanium and other metals, as well as trace quantities of Silver that indicate the possibility of richer undiscovered lodes. As of 835 AS, the El Aaiun has attracted persistent rumors of unstable Jump Holes leading to unexplored frontiers.

    Wrecks

    Hassani - B-7

The wreck of the Hassani belonged to Red Hessian ace Jakob Bautzen, whose ship was disabled during a failed raid to capture Casablanca from the Corsairs. Bautzen attempted to flee the area while being pursued by Corsair patrols. He managed to shake them in the dense El Aaiun field, but the damage to his fuel compartment was too severe.

Stranded without fuel in the middle of nowhere, the pilot was destined for a slow death. However, the equipment appears to remain intact.

    Contains:

    August - G-6/5

The wreck of the Red Hessian fighter August, belonging to the rookie pilot Christian Scholz. August and his squadron engaged a group of Bounty Hunters who outmatched the Hessians, destroying Scholz's wingmen and forcing him to flee. He didn't get far, as his cockpit was breached, resulting in a quick death. The wreck might contain valuable equipment.

    Contains:

    Radiant - G-4

The Radiant was a cargo ship belonging to the Zoners that was attacked by Wild raiders. The surprise attack was executed flawlessly, giving Radiant and its escort no chance. Most of its systems were damaged, and the ship was lost somewhere in the Walker Nebula. It was one of the few instances where the Wild ventured as far as Omega-47.

    Contains:

    Luchnik - E-3

The wreck of the Luchnik, a Coalition Insurgent belonging to Mihail Dzyuba, lies adrift in space. The Luchnik, along with its wingman Volshebnik, was involved in a multi-sided brawl between the Corsairs, Bounty Hunters, and the Coalition. Unfortunately for the Coalition duo, they drew the short end of the stick, being targeted first by the other two sides. Their ships were not destroyed, however, as the Corsairs and the Hunters turned on each other, leaving the wreckage to drift.

The Luchnik was inflicted an EMP pulse shock that disabled its electronic systems. The pilot, ejecting in panic, is believed to have been captured by the victor of the Corsair-Bounty Hunter clash.

    Contains:

    Volshebnik - E-3

Wreck of the Volshebnik, a Coalition Insurgent belonging to Mihail Dzyuba. The Volshebnik, along with its wingman Luchnik, was involved in a multi-sided brawl between the Corsairs and the Bounty Hunters. Unfortunately for the Coalition duo, they drew the short end of the stick, being targeted first by the other two sides. Their ships were not destroyed, however, as the Corsairs and the Hunters turned on each other, leaving the wreckage to drift. The Volshebnik suffered a missile blast to the engines, rendering it immobile. The pilot, ejecting in haste, is believed to have been captured by the victor of the Corsair-Bounty Hunter clash.
