Constructed in 822 AS at Oder Shipyard for the Rheinland Federal Police, the liner Helsingborg was designed to address Vierlande Prison's growing need to transport prisoners across Rheinland. It fulfilled this role effectively until Vierlande's destruction in 829 AS. With its primary purpose gone and no demand for its services near Rheinland's other prison, Mecklenburg, the liner was sold to the Bounty Hunters Guild in early 830 AS.

Following the Skagen Agreement in 835 AS -- a mutual-aid contract between The Core and the Bounty Hunters Guild -- the Helsingborg found a new role as a mobile carrier for Bounty Hunters venturing into Omega-55. The promise of early retirement through lucrative bounties on local pirates, bolstered by a steady salary from The Core, has made the Helsingborg a well-guarded hub and a sought-after contract. It now serves as the Guild’s central headquarters in the deep Omegas.

[835 AS] Junker Convoy Attacked by Rheinlanders?

BORNHOLM -- 835 -- Junkers on Bornholm Station in Omega-55 have reported unusual instances of Rheinland vessels attacking their convoys. The attacks have been so devastating that no ship has survived to recount the events firsthand. The only evidence the Junkers possess are intercepted radio signals emitted shortly before the convoys were presumably destroyed or captured. An official complaint has been filed with the Rheinland government, but there has yet to be an official response.

Rumors

Bounty Hunters Guild
  • If you asked me what my ideal destination would be, I can't say I'd ever choose Omega-55. The place is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but the beauty eventually becomes stale, and the remoteness can get to you. At least the pay is good, even for a bartender, and being on a mobile ship means we'll likely sooner or later be out of here.

  • Welcome to the Helsingborg. Looking for work? Report to quartermaster Berg, he'll be assigning you a room to stay, contracts to do, and all the legal nonsense regarding workers rights and all. If you manage to survive while scoring a few bounties, you'll walk out a rich person. If not, you'll be dead before the New Year.

The Core
  • I am the main representative of the Core on this vessel. When my employer and the Bounty Hunters Guild signed the Skagen Treaty about mutual defense between the two entities, I was sent here to make sure the hunters stick to their end of the deal. So far so good - they are skillful, direct, and don't talk much. They better keep it that way, we're paying them a lot of money to help us secure Skagen.

Freelancers
  • In 833 AS I almost died to mysterious Rheinland ships in the northern part of the system. Rheinland, can you believe it? Shooting an innocent independent freighter, hauling water? The only reason why I'm still here today, is that a local Bounty Hunter patrol scared them away. The hunters were outnumbering them 3:1. I guess there is power in raw numbers after all. Later on the hunters told me that they aren't ordinary Rheinlanders, but I'm sure they were kidding. What the hell is that supposed to mean?

  • I'm one of the odd independent contractors who like to combine business with pleasure. My Dromedary cannot hold too much cargo, but it's perfect for supplying vessels such as the Helsingborg, and as a bonus I get to explore the beautiful spaces of the deep Omegas. My usual deliveries involve the standard stuff - food rations, water, consumer goods - which don't pay too much, yet they pay well enough due to the dangers of undertaking such a task.
