Weapon Codename: CERBERUS
Widely recognized as the godfather of experimental weaponry, the original CERBERUS was birthed in a shadowy Rheinland facility. A fusillade of three projectiles are created within the chassis and merge together as the barrel forces their fusion, hence creating the moniker of the PROJECT. Contrary to popular belief, the CERBERUS isn't the name of the fighter-equipped Codename, but rather the name for the iconic patent-design. Treading thin-lines of regulations, the scheme focuses on delivering extraordinary damage at the cost of projectile velocity and inefficient reactor consumption. Despite the drawbacks the project was renowed for its capabilities and seeing one equipped on loosely affiliated Freelancers was not an uncommon sight.
When militaries and navies alike noticed the widespread use of this particular weapon, it prompted them to design and manufacture the patent on a larger scale to be fitted onto warships - using the same devastating but inefficient characteristics. The design can also be found on transports as well, making the CERBERUS the first project to be christened into civilian, military and corporate use.
Albeit plentiful everywhere as of today, the fighter variant remains a collector's item.
