SOA Rank Structure
Based off the rank structure of the Red Hessian Army, rank structure of Spezialoperationsabteilung is reliant on a system of achievements. These achievements, however, are of a more elite and specialized nature compared to their equivalent rank within the regular [RHA] structure. With the main goals of SOA in mind, these requirements are designed to assure only those who deserve the promotions progress through the ranks. A more detailed description of certain achievements can be found in the definitions section.
Rank Structure
Every member of the SOA starts as a regular pilot of the Red Hessian Army, as Spezialoperationsabteilung only accepts RHA officers, and thus any pilot who desires to file a transfer request to SOA should already have passed the promotion to Leutnant within the regular RHA ranking system. Therefor, making Leutnant the lowest rank within the SOA.
The ranks are sorted from lowest to highest.
Leutnant
Pilots who become Leutnants are those who are beginning to succumb to the gritty reality of the battlefield in the Omega systems and the civil war within Rheinland itself. Still idealistic and courageous, they now know the extent of the terror that their enemies are willing to inflict upon them, if only to break their will, and so they will be ready for the dangerous responsibility of serving under Spezialoperationsabteilung command and battling Das Wilde in Omegas to protect their home and their house.

Oberleutnant
By the time a Spezialoperationsabteilung reaches the rank of Oberleutnant, he is more than well aware of the dangers of the SOA operations. Becoming more cynical by the day, he nonetheless unquestioningly follows the commands of his higher ranking officers in the never-ending battle against alien forces, in order to assure the continued operation of the Hessian movement and Rheinland civilian population. But regardless of this, the pilot is still committed to what he believes is right. He regards his duties as but a necessary evil on his homeland's and his own way to freedom from fascism.

- At least 5 confirmed patrols into restricted systems, accompanied by a Hauptmann or above - 7 total
- General combat test with a Major (or above) of the Spezialoperationsabteilung
- Approval of Red Hessian Army revolutionary council
Hauptmann
A Spezialoperationsabteilung Hauptmann is a seasoned veteran, thinking in terms of long term strategy more so than morality. He is now a higher officer, and frequently takes command of the troops on the field in the absence of other, more experienced Hessian fighters and officers. He is a man not afraid -- and even used to pulling the trigger of a weapon directed at his enemies, not at all haunted by remorse for his actions nor his enemies. He is slowly becoming cold and calculated, a true hammer of the Volksrevolution, and that alone brings him respect among his fellow peers.

- At least 3 confirmed destruction of a hostile capital ship in Hessian core territory - 5 total
- At least 5 confirmed patrols led into restricted systems, consisting of at least 2 lower ranking officers
- Successfully setting up 2 events between SOA and another faction
- Strong approval of Red Hessian Army revolutionary council
Major
A Major of the Spezialoperationsabteilung is a man who has proven to the whole movement that he has what it takes to lead the most elite of the Hessian to their inevitable victory in their battle against enemies of Rheinland, human or alien. He now is a part of the group surrounding the Brigadegeneral himself, and knows by name all the great commanders of the movement. A Spezialoperationsabteilung Major is a man equally revered and feared by his men, mainly for his unparalleled effectiveness in battle and a devotion to the cause bordering on fanaticism. He participates in all important decisions of the group, and sometimes even the movement. His appearance on the battlefield strikes fear into the hearts of the enemy, as those who can comprehend it know full well that they are then facing the best of what their opponents have to offer.

Brigadegeneral
Brigadegeneral is an ideological and organisational commander within the Red Hessian Army and the highest rank within the Spezialoperationsabteilung structure. He plans the strategy, leads the recruitment and ensures the morale is high among the troops. He not only handles all the matters which may concern SOA, he also aids the Generalmajor in organising the RHA. He writes the speeches and directs the propaganda videos. He ensures that all actions ordered by the command centre are carried out to the letter. All Brigadegenerals are appointed by the Generalmajor personally, and only one Brigadegeneral is appointed for the SOA at any given time, and as such is a special rank.
Achievement Definitions
Posted biography of character on the forums/wiki
A short biography and history of your character must be posted on the forums or wiki. (Example: Kaspar Meisnerr or Friedrich Dresner).
At least a number of confirmed patrols into restricted systems, accompanied by a Hauptmann or above
At least a number of confirmed patrols led into restricted systems, consisting of at least 2 lower ranking officers
Bretonia borderworlds, Sigma sector and deep Omega systems are considered restricted for lower ranking officers of SOA. Operatives with the rank of Haumptmanns or above have the responsibility to make sure these sectors are patrolled regularly and any possible threat are removed. Each lower ranking officer (Leutnant and Oberleutnant) is required to take part in these patrols and document them on the message dump for their promotion, and each Hauptmann is required to document the arrangement and organization of these patrols on the message dump for the same purpose.
At least a number of confirmed kills of a enemy ship type (faction only)
Proof of kill (the kill message) should be posted on the message dump, along with details of the fight.
At least a number of confirmed destruction of a hostile capital ship in Hessian core territory
Hessian core territory is defined as Dresden, Omega-11 and Omega-54. Taking part in destruction of a number of hostile capital ships in these areas is required to fulfill this requirement.
Successfully setting up a number of events between SOA and another faction
Events arranged with another official faction via forums, documented on the message dumps and organized in form of a operation thread posted in RHA subforum. Has to be cleared out with the HC beforehand.
