Early Life
Coming to Age
The Duc Passes Away
Claire is the second child of Jean DeFrance, the Duc of Orleanais, brother to the Roi Charles XI. She was born after a few years had passed from the birth of Charlotte, her sister. Claire was raised with a more relaxed, albeit still royally strict, upbringing compared to her sister. She was never really seen as someone who would surpass her sibling and more of just a convenience to be used in politics in order for the other family members to establish more political power or give stability to the family. Nevertheless, she wasn't completely neglected despite the family treating Charlotte as the true protege of the two; She and Charlotte were taught the same lessons on reigning, proper etiquette, administration and such. All thanks to her caring mother that convinced her husband to not neglect and love all of their children, though it was only taken partially.
Claire and Charlotte had a deep bond of friendship with one another, but their differing schedules and treatment made them see each other very rarely. When they could do something together, they did - but as time went on, the opportunities came around less and less frequently. Because of this, their relations grew mellow bit by bit. Both made new friends with courtiers and servants, entered new noble circles, and ultimately grew apart.

Coming to Age
After coming to age and going though the ceremonies and celebrations, she was gifted less-important regions of Planet Orleanais to reign, under supervision and assistance of her father. As a result, she ended up "ruling" almost exclusively inside the palace, only arriving to the actual provinces when there were important matters at hand. She was seen as just another noble, not special or different from any of the rest. She did, however, used any opportunity to sneak out of the palace to participate in any events: royal parties, noble gatherings and festivals. In the end, it was a major cause of headaches for her controlling father. Jean also sought for her to be married and attempted to find a spouse that would bring him benefit and power, but it was cut short by his very untimely death from "natural" causes.
The Duc Passes Away
The death of her father came as a crushing blow for Claire. Despite the constant clashing of very different opinions, she deeply loved and respected her father as he was the only person who appeared to care for her besides her mother. The first few days after mourning she became completely reclusive and flustered, having been left alone in dealing with administrative tasks without the guiding hand of her father.
Her incompetent attempts were met with anger, impatience and disappointment. It was obvious she wouldn't meet the expectations of performance to be the same, or better than her father, and was eventually "convinced" to relinquish her holdings to her more capable sister, Charlotte.
