BS weaponry balance from 4.85 would be great. All guns of the same class, balanced by energy consumption.
Demolish everything

Remove non-vanilia factions for clean state, especially CR, Core, HF

Return Order to its vanilia roots and keep it as house friendly proxy against Nomads. Toledo great again.

+1/2 system for each region maximum in comparison to vanilia map. Omicrons being exception, expanded adequately to accomodate uncolonized and Nomad space.

New house based around Sol. 5-6 system size. SCRA re-imagined as its Sirian off-shot romantics with a twist that Sol is not dominantly communist anymore.

Merge LWB with Bundschuh
Bretonia is militarly dominant and heavily autocratic house, rivalling Liberty after its remarkable success in Nomad War
Adjust and subtract factions as needed. For example: Gaians promoted to full scale anti-royal revolution encompassing Gaian eco agenda into greater faction. Diversify some faction's ideologies. Fascist Unioners, populist-centrist Bundschuh (now as antonomous state in northern Rheinland forced to balance with both rebels and lawfuls in hope for better Rheinland) and full-on commie Hessians. GC and Hogosha as equally legal competing semi-lawful agents in Kusari at onset of succesful popular coup. Xenos becoming full on rebellion basing off Texas and Bering (tho not controlling any planets directly). Farmers promoted to Kusari royalists who switch role with victorious BD (who themselves got major internal and external issues of their own)

Merge Ageira with Synth Foods in partnership with DSE & Universal/Gateway (Bretonia didn't acknowledged free enterprise) merge. Merge Planetform and Cryer in partnership with Bretonian crown industries (BMM/Bowex) becoming its Bretonian-based competition in way more than stock market. Sell off Kruger to ALG already...

I could go on...

Remove player's name from player list
Remove all pulse-type weapons from NPC to prevent infamous energy-regen bug
Add more crowd control weapons across all classes, possibly shield damage only
Add snub shield with fast restart time / buff restart time for weaker snub shields
Add secondary combat capabilities to cloak disruptor such as CD ability / shield damage
Let fighters use ASURAS on their torp slot
Remove ability to fire dual cap missiles / nova
Add fixed forward gun slot for bomber, SNAC will now use that slot, buff SNAC damage slightly
Add long range pulse artillery forward gun for bombers
Buff bomber energy cannon
Add bomber torpedo that will obliterate Cheetah thruster caps
Add EMP mortars
Add pulse railgun for caps, ~0.01 energy effiency but will reliably deshield snubs from 10k
Add ability for caps to equip their class-respective heavy turrets on their CD slot
Make jump trading / jumpdrive in combat viable to some degree, not as effective as pre-nerf obviously
Watch the world burn
Implement the Unione Corse VHF which was originally completed on May 11th, 2014.

Have everyone else complaining about their ship taking a year to be added to the game, wait a full three and a half.

But some things as removing player names from player list could indeed be nice, and i dont think that hard to implement

This could bring some "surprise element" back to pirates, so a trader cant simply evade them, and make pirates actually need to play the game to pirate, not just log in in a choke point, "10milordai"+"quickordai, corporate scum" and log off
-remove aux slots
-more variety in code stats + how to get them
-new ~3600 shippies for more variety in freelance trade vessels
-more uses for freighters, and non-VHF fighters
-custom modification for ships (powerplant, weapon hardpoint placement/numbers, cruise speed?)
-revert/reintroduce some of the older gun particles
-re-balance NPC's loadouts/patrols?

Improve NPC loot; trading is objectively superior in every way to NPC piracy and eight Large Transports hoping their cargo hold full of Oxygen fetches a good price in a row beggars belief.

(Also, have high-level Bunter NPCs drop Cards and high-level Outcasts drop cardi again. That was a nice symbolic bit of gameplay and story integration.)
